Catbagan Director, Bureau of Animal Industry Quezon City, NCR Dear Dr. Catbagan: Re: request to conduct an evaluation Our VELE101A: Animal Ecology, Behavior, and Welfare class is studying and having a project for this semester concerning on the matter about animal responsiveness and animal wellbeing. In this case, our group, 2nd year Veterinary Medicine students, would akin to pay a quick visit, document, manage an evaluation for sanitation, furthermore to be familiar with the process of slaughtering of animals of one of the slaughterhouse that we prefer here in Valenzuela, which is the Animal Products Development Center at A Fernando St., Marulas, Valenzuela City. So now, we would like to ask for if it is possible for our group, to perform such evaluation on February 20, 2009, a half-day assessment, that would begin at 6:00- 10:00 in the morning for us to observe the method of slaughtering an animal on the said slaughterhouse. The group’s aim for this request is to examine, assess, keep a record (using a camera) of the place before, during and after the slaughtering process. Our group will comprise of five members. Please let us know as soon as possible if such an activity is possible and if such documentation and conducting an evaluation would be permitted on the location. And, if so, we will contact you by phone for us to know what day and time would be most convenient for you to have a personal meeting with our group to talk about this said request.
