LESSON PLAN

TOPIC: VERB TO BE IN PAST TIME: 50 minutes CEFL LEVEL: A1

CAN DO STATEMENTS: 

Given the proper tense for professions in the past

FUNCTIONS: The students will be able to write and speak sentences about which was and is the professions of the people e.g.” she was nurse, now she is a teacher”

WARM UP (10 minutes): Students will create two groups, a representative will represent a profession without using words, just body language. The group will have less than a minute

to guess the profession, if they cannot guess the other group will have a chance.

PRESENTATION (10m) 1) They will listen and read a text from the book page 36. 2) They will do brainstorming about the text 3) The teacher will explain the text PRACTICE (10) 1) They will answer points 2 and 3 from the book PRODUCTION (20) 1) In groups of 5 they will draw their invented family and they will write for each member and profession in past and an actual profession. 2) Each student will have a role in the group: -One student should create the name of the family (when it finished should help others) -Two students will create the draw of the members -two students will create the sentences using verb to in present and past ASSIGNMENT Develop worksheet

A small paragraph should be using verb to be in present and a second one the past tense.
