The teacher shows three sentences: I love you. I will love you. I must love you. The students tell what differences do they see – in structure and meaning. The teacher introduces modal auxiliaries and their uses Students enumerate the modals they know. Discussion follows. The teacher gives a drill.
IV. Evaluation:
The students take an activity: the first is enumeration of modals and its uses; the second one is supplying the appropriate modal to complete a sentence.
V. HOMEWORK: Use the modals in a sentence.
