Probably every major wholesaler on our books has asked me this question lately – why are other brand 5.8gHz AV Senders sometimes much cheaper than the Radio Parts model and yet look the same?

We have done extensive research into the subject and there are some really important points: • Yes, the appearance or housing is the same. Our manufacturer sells the housing to a competing manufacturer in Taiwan, but the internals are very different. • You can identify the competing model as 7 channels are used, rather than the 4 channels on the Pro2 AVS5800B unit. • Some internet vendors have marketed the competing product as ‘latest version’. This is misleading as it is from a different manufacturer and is a different and inferior product. • Our manufacturer produces their product for major and reputable brands. The manufacturer of the 7 channel model to date has no such contracts with any major brands

Radio Parts is one of Australia’s biggest importers and wholesalers of ‘free-to-air’ television products. We trade with most the professional antenna installers, we have tradies that dabble in installations and the public. Particularly for the public, it gets complicated. Just as a starting point, in Australia we use 57 different TV channels, each one using a different frequency. In the past, we have narrowed the range down to antennas that are specifically for VHF (Very High Frequency 45MHz to 222MHz), UHF (Ultra High Frequency 526MHz to 820MHz) or a Combination of both Melbourne
