Process Oriented Approach Why? Why? The synonym of existence for an organization is customer oriented… providing the product [tangible] or a service [Implicit]. To keep and enlarge the customer base with an aim to keep them satisfied – the organization’s product or service needs to meet the requirements of Quality Management Service - QMS. ISO 9001:2000 – A Process Oriented Approach - provides tried and tested framework for taking a systematic approach to manage the business processes – organizations activities - so that they consistently turn out products or services conforming to customers expectations. This can lead to consistency in product or service delivery to the customers and to augment in business growth.

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has adopted the eight universally accepted quality management principles to serve as the foundation for all the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 standard. 1. CUSTOMER FOCUS Organizations depend on their customers and therefore should understand current and future customer needs, should meet customer requirements and strive to exceed customer expectations.

2. LEADERSHIP Leaders establish unity of purpose and direction of the organization. They should create and maintain the internal environment in which people can become fully involved in achieving the organisation’s objectives.
