Imagine… • You are part of a group of farmers and herders in the year 2500 b.c.e. The group needs to move and you have been chosen to find a new location where the group can settle. You traveled around the area and found the perfect spot. In your notebook draw a picture that depicts the features of an ideal site for human settlement.

One Last Consideration… • Seasonal winds called Monsoons control India’s climate: winter blows from the northeast dry air, then spring/summer blows from the s.w. bringing rain clouds • Environmental challenges: unpredictable yearly floods along the Indus River and extreme wet and dry seasons.
