MOHENJO-DARO & HARAPPA
HIMALAYA MTS • Karakorum and Hindu Kush provide a continuous source of water for the Indus and its tributaries. These mountain ranges also provided important timber, animal products, and minerals, gold, silver, tin and semiprecious stones that were traded throughout the Indus Valley.

“PRIEST - KING” • Seated male sculpture • Ribbon head/arm band • Hair is combed • Upper lip is shaved • Cloak is decorated w/ trefoil(circle)
Why is he called “priest king”? • Holes beneath ears suggest necklace or ornament may have been used. • Back of head may have held headdress.
“DANCING GIRL” • Some consider her a slave? • Why is she a dancing girl and the male sculpture a “priest-king”? • Some have suggested her features look African? • Could there have
