Born June 25, 1987 in Alton, IL. Lived in Champaign, IL since age 2 after parent’s divorce; Originally lived in Wood River, IL. Both parents and two older sisters graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. UIUC Alma Mater

Parkland College Music Library, January 2006-May 2007  A few of my responsibilities: 

◦ Organize, file, and copy music for the Parkland College Wind Ensemble and Concert Band under the direction of Jeffrey Marshall ◦ Set up chairs and music stands for each band

University of Illinois Crop Sciences Student Employee, June-July 2007.  Job Details: Worked with seven other people, under the supervision of professor Jerald Pataky, to test the effects of various diseases on sweet corn.  Challenges of the job: Being covered in corn pollen and dirt constantly, protecting skin from sunburn, avoiding being scratched or cut by tools or corn. 

Intern at Forest Park Forever, St. Louis, MO, June-July 2008.  Job description: I worked with six horticulturists and four interns under the supervision Horticulture Foreman Alan Jankowski to help maintain and restore Forest Park. 

◦ Challenges: Avoiding sunburns, spraying chemicals, staying hydrated.

Volunteer Baseball Coach at Champaign Central High School, 2005-Present Started volunteering at practices and games in Fall 2005 for Head Coach John Staab A few of my responsibilities: ◦ Filming Games ◦ Keeping score during games ◦ Hitting groundballs to infielders and fly balls to outfielders



University Bands Volunteer, Fall 2007Spring 2009. ◦ 2007 Illini Marching Band Festival: I helped set up and move barricades during the parade competition and worked as a judge’s assistant during the field competition. ◦ Superstate Concert Band Festival, 2008-2009: I worked as an usher distributing programs and monitoring guests inside and outside the concert hall.



Volunteered along with twenty other IUPUI students with Service and the City to assist the Indy Food Cooperative begin the process of opening their member-owned grocery store on September 11, 2009. ◦ Responsibility: Remove and clear vinyl floor tiles.

Although I consider my experience as a baseball coach a job, I have not received any salary.  I have not had a full time job yet, but I consider volunteer and part-time work valuable even if they may not be in my field of study.  Many people ask me what I want to do after finishing my LIS degree, but I am not always sure of what career I want to pursue. 



 
