How Could David Call His Grandchild His Lord? Matthew 22: 41‐46
1. The very statement which ended all confrontations = If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his Son?” and no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore a. What was the inherent objective when Christ Jesus revert the question to the Pharisees? Why none of them could answer this question? And why from there on, nobody dares to question anymore? i. At that time, everyone knew that Jesus is the son (Grandchild) of David = The incident of the blind man Bartimaeus <Matt 20: 30> while Jesus enters Jerusalem <Matt 21: 9> ii. Now, Christ Jesus questioned the Pharisees saying: “Now that I am not only the son of David, but I am the Lord as well. Could this be acceptable to you all?” iii. <John 8: 56> It was recorded that Christ Jesus again used the example of Abraham to describe Himself; “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad”; What this meant is that before Abraham existed, Christ Jesus was already there. iv. Those people wouldn’t dare to question Christ Jesus, but at the same time, they do not accept the Christ. They were plotting to murder Christ Jesus. b. There were different points of view towards Jesus Christ from many people, but in actual fact, there were only 2 different categories of believe; It is a matter of whether if you believe that “Jesus is the Christ and the Son of God” or not. i. <Matt 16: 13 – 20> Jesus asked: “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”, there were many different perspectives of Jesus at that time, then Jesus asked again: “Who do you think I am?”, Simon Peter answered: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” and Jesus said: “Blessed are you, Simon Bar‐Jonah”; 1. On this rock I will build My church. 2. The gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 3. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. c. There are many people in the church today. But for those who truly understand that Jesus is the Christ, there are not many. Therefore, those who understood Christ liked living and, those who could enjoy the strength in Christ and those who could establish a church are not many. i. There are many believers of Christ whom have no spiritual strength and authority while living. These things happened because they do not understand Christ Jesus. Therefore, they could not be exempted from denying Christ Jesus (= these people do not have the knowledge, or they may have the wrong knowledge, or they could just understand partly of the Gospel, or they may have the knowledge but do not know how to depend and obey God). ii. The people who truly knew Christ will act as such: 1. Will be dead and be resurrected with Christ, so that they too could obtain a newly established living life. 2. They could depend on the Lord anytime, anywhere, and enjoy the strength and authority from the Throne of Christ. 3. They obey Christ in everything, and for everyday they will bear many fruits. ** We have to look back at our lives in order to determine whether we truly knew Christ or not. 2. Christ Jesus is “the Son of David” and “the Lord of David” a. This is the great mystery of “God whom had became Human and the Word became Flesh” = Christ is “The Son of God” and “The Son of Man”
. b. Jesus is the Son of David = The Son of Man ‐ Jesus Christ
i. Christ Jesus came through the blood descendant of David = The descendant of Abel, Noah, Abraham, Israelites (Moses) and David = The same common believe of the Gospel of all people through the entire history = born again, sanctify (walking together with Christ) and having the same Gospel career with Christ. = Gospel is the great power of God and it is to save those who believe, first, the Jews, then the Samaritans. Because of God’s righteousness, which was manifested through the Gospel, this righteousness will be with those who believed. = The only way, the truth and the life <John 14: 7>, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved . ii. Christ Jesus is the word became flesh and became the son of man through the descendant of David. He came here to this realistic world to manifest the glory of God, to clarify the mysteries of the Heaven, to educate all matters according to the perfect will of God and died and resurrected in order to accomplish the eternal salvation of the people. He too had prophesied the matters of eternal and the Kingdom, nurtured the disciples, so that the whole world could become a disciple of Christ as well. Then, He ascended to Heaven and seated at the right hand of the Throne in order to have prayer intersession for His body. iii. As for David, his life objective is to live to manifest Christ and to preserve his descendant from Solomon onwards so that the son of man could be born. = The same goes to the people whom are called to be blessed throughout the entire human history. = Until today, Christ Jesus is with those who believe in Him and His name. He will guide them and will preserve their descendants which belong to Christ Jesus. = Our entire life objective is to obtain a life with Christ. According to our attributes through Christ Jesus, we learn about Christ and manifest Christ Jesus in our lives. We will have many great testimonies about Christ and we will give birth to our descendants (flesh or spiritually) which belong to Christ Jesus and His sheep (His disciples). c. Christ Jesus is the Lord of David = The Son of God (God Himself), eternal, the Lord of all nations i. The son of God, Christ Jesus is the one who created all things, preserved all things, salvaged all things, withstand all things and governed all things . ‐ For all the things in the world was created by Him and for Him, established for Him, and in Him all things consists . ii. He is the icon of the whole world and the entire history. He came to earth in order to obtain His people (their re‐born, sanctification and their crown of glory) . iii. The entire bible testifies Him = Throughout the entire human history, those who were called to be blessed knew Him and were called to be born again. When they depend on Him, they obtained victory. In all things they too will gain their crown of glory. <John 5: 39, Rev 24: 44, Rev 5: 5, Gen 3: 15, Heb 11, John 8: 56, Deuteronomy 18: 18…> iv. David was convicted and inspired by the Holy Spirit, saying: “The LORD said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool” <44> = The message of the Messiah / this message is being used in other important messages = Christ Jesus has ascended to Heaven and seated on the right hand of the Throne. All authorities of the Heaven and the earth were given to Him, and He continues the works of the eternal Kingdom of Heaven.
= For every period of time, Christ Jesus had accomplished all the great works of eternal through those who believed in Him and nobody could object to this. ‐ Abel’s death had became a great testimony to Christ Jesus / as for Noah, even if he is alone, he has triumph over the whole world / the blessedness of Abraham and his descendants / Moses had exiled from Egypt, crossed the red sea, crossed the wilderness and conquered the land of Canaan / the testimonies of the 12 judges / David’s victory… 3. Knowing Christ’s presence, enjoying Christ victory and bearing the fruits of Christ a. Christ Jesus is the son of David; Today, He lives in those whom had the same believe of Abraham, those who believe in the Gospel of David. i. They believe in: the root or fundamental problem of humans (the flesh, sin and evil spirit). ii. They believe in: the mysteries of Christ Jesus, who is the word, became flesh, died and resurrected and sited at the right hand of the Throne, who is full of His authority. iii. They believe that they have the mercy of God, are called to be blessed and are willing to died and be resurrected together with Christ Jesus (referring to their life objectives, content and methods of living), for they have obtained the Holy Spirit, an eternal life and a new life on earth Î Therefore, the words of the Lord and the Holy Spirit will continue to guide the lives of these people, whom had believed. b. Christ Jesus is the Lord of David. Whenever David depended on the Christ, he has obtained victory and he was called to be blessed; Today, Lord Jesus Christ is the King of those who depend on Him and He made them very much victorious in all things. i. We have to allow the eternal plan of Christ Jesus to flow (The establishment of an eternal King, the Citizens and the eternal Kingdom) and we also have to understand the current plans of Christ Jesus of this era. * The plans of Christ Jesus are different in each period of time (Noah, Abraham, Moses and David). So, what are the plans of Christ Jesus in today? = there were many churches which were established. As for Christ plans for the 21st century, the churches have revive the 4 gospelizations and the ways of the Immanuel God to nurture the disciples and continue to receive the people belonging to God of the ends of the days. ii. We have to establish a systematic thought pattern in Christ Jesus and continue to be focused in the body of Christ, the church and the disciples. We have to examine the plans and the will of the Lord in our lives every day. iii. We should pray day and night. At night, we should examine ourselves and our lives, cleanse our selves, renew our selves and we should preserve a heart which loves the Lord and the people. iv. No matter what circumstances we encounter in our walks of lives, we have to preserve our thoughts and deeds. We have to believe that all things happened for good, and in everything we have to discover the reasons to give praises to God. v. Christ Jesus will sit at the right hand of the Throne only to wait until the number of people who are saved is reached and until the enemies are being put under His footstool; Today, Lord Jesus Christ is still seeking the lives of “the sons of David” and will continue to give birth to “the sons of David”. 1. In our lives, we have to bear the good fruits of the Holy Spirit. 2. No matter where and at which moment we are, we have to give thanks and praises to the Lord. We have to continue to seek the citizens of God (those whom are considered to have the 8 beatitudes). 3. We have to put our focus in the church, nurture the disciples and continue to expand the living networks.
