Detailed instructions: (how will this exercise be explained to the group) • Students will be split into two groups • One group will be the foxes, the other will be rabbits • Rabbits will start on one side of the gym. Beanbags will be set up on the other • Hula hoops will be set out in the middle of the gym in all sorts of random places • Rabbits goal is to get to other side of gym and bring all the beanbags back to the side they started at. However they can only get to other side by hopping. Rabbits are safe in holes but they can only stay in them for 3 seconds. • Also if another rabbit jumps in their hole, they must leave! There can only be one rabbit in a hole at once. • Once a fox hits a rabbit, they switch places. The rabbit becomes the fox and the fox becomes the rabbit.

Name of Exercise: Candlestick Dodge ball

Expected Length: (in minutes) 7 minutes Purpose: (why is this exercise included in the lesson) To introduce the students to another version of dodge ball Detailed instructions: (how will this exercise be explained to the group) • The class will be separated into ½ again. • One half of the class will be in the middle, the other half will be throwing dodge balls • When a person in the middle is hit by a ball, they become a “candle” standing still with their feet together and their hands in a point above their heads. They have to slowly lower their hands to their sides. • Once their hands hit their sides they are melted and sit down. • HOWEVER, if another student in the middle runs under their arms, they are no longer a candle and can continue dodging the balls. • After 3 minutes, the instructor will call switch, and the people in the middle will go to the outside and vice versa Observations/Comments/Reflections
