DELVIEW SECONDARY SCHOOL GRADE 8 COURSE SELECTION WORKSHEET 2011-2012 For course selection this year we are using the on-line process through Parent Connect. Please ensure you thoroughly read Delview’s Course Planning Guide on our website.

Step #2: Select Band as an elective course If you wish to take Beginning Band 8 (MU200) or Junior Band 8 (MU210), please select. Note: Band 8 will be offered outside the regular timetable (before school) Courses that Counsellors will select for students Strategies for Learning – Learning Assistance Strategies for Learning – Learning Disabilities English as a Second Language Please consult with your counsellor to be granted permission to take one of these support classes.

Parents are expected to actively participate in their son/daughter’s course selections using Parent Connect. Please contact your counsellor, Ms. Schlatter (A-K) or Ms. Springenatic (L-Z), at (604) 594-5491 with any questions or concerns. Important Dates for Course Selection: Delview Counsellors visit Elementary Schools – February 28 – March 8, 2011 Parent Information Night for students currently in Grade 7 – March 9, 2011 (7:00pm) Parent Connect “Opens” – course selection begins – March 10, 2011 Parent Connect “Closes” – course selection must be completed prior to this date – March 18, 2011

NON-CATCHMENT and NON-SCHOOL DISTRICT APPLICATION FORMS are necessary for all students new to Delview and not living in the Delview Secondary catchment area. These forms are available at any school office in Delta.
