DELVIEW SECONDARY SCHOOL GRADE 11 COURSE SELECTION WORKSHEET 2011-2012 For course selection this year we are using the on-line process through Parent Connect. Please visit Delview Secondary’s website at http://www.deltasd.bc.ca/dl/ for instructions and information on using Parent Connect and course selection. Please ensure you thoroughly read Delview’s Course Planning Guide on our website. To meet graduation requirements, a student must complete a minimum of 80 credits; at least 16 credits (4 courses) are required at the Grade 12 level. Of the total 80 credits, 48 are designated required courses, 4 are for Grad Transitions and 28 are for elective courses, which must include a Fine Arts or Applied Skills course. SELECT THE COURSES BELOW USING PARENT CONNECT EACH GRADE 11 STUDENT IS REQUIRED TO TAKE A TOTAL OF EIGHT COURSES (Study Block must be applied for – please see your counsellor) REQUIRED COURSE – Students must take ONE from each section for a total of FOUR required courses ENGLISH (Choose one) MATH (Choose one) SOCIAL STUDIES Communications 11 ..... Parents are expected to actively participate in their son/daughter’s course selections using Parent Connect. Please contact your counsellor, Ms. Schlatter (A-K) or Ms. Springenatic (L-Z), at (604) 594-5491 with any questions or concerns.

Important Dates for Course Selection: Delview Counsellors visit classes to brief students on course selection – February 7-11, 2011 Parent Information Night for Students currently in Grade 10, 11 – February 16, 2011 (7:00pm) Parent Connect “Opens” – course selection begins – March 10, 2011 Parent Connect “Closes” – course selection must be completed prior to this date – March 18, 2011

NON-CATCHMENT and NON-SCHOOL DISTRICT APPLICATION FORMS are necessary for all students new to Delview and not living in the Delview Secondary catchment area. These forms are available at any school office in Delta.
