Local Dancers are Starz More than 200 local dancers and 20 area dance organizations will be featured in the 2009 Starz Show to be performed at the Center for the Arts in downtown Grass Valley. Regarded as one of Nevada County’s premier showcases for local dance talent, the Starz Show features a great mix of dance schools along with amateur and professional performers. Show times are Friday and Saturday, March 27 & 28 at 7:00pm and April 3 & 4 at 7:00pm. Each weekend’s programs will be different. Some of the participating groups include:

Tickets are $15.00 for adults, $12.00 for seniors 65 and over and children 12 and under. Tickets are available at the Center for the Arts box office at 314 W. Main in Grass Valley or by calling 530274-8384, ext. 14. Tickets may also be purchased at the door, if available. A portion of the proceeds from the Starz Show are set aside in a scholarship fund for developing dance students. Last year $2,000.00 was given to aspiring dancers. The Nevada County Fairgrounds Board of Directors has named Robin Hauck as the new Deputy Manager of the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Hauck has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Merced County Fair since 2005, and she brings more than 25 years of fair industry experience to the job. Prior to her work at the Merced County Fair, Hauck worked with the El Dorado County Fair for 17 years. She has also served as a fair industry consultant, as well as worked for the Grand National Rodeo and Junior Grand National at the Cow Palace, and for the California

State Fair. Hauk has experience working at the Sonoma County Fair, the Gold Robin Hauck Country Fair, the Calaveras County Fair, the Santa Barbara Fair & Expo, the California MidWinter Fair, and the Amador County Fair. Hauck, who grew up in Loomis, will begin her new duties on April 1. She replaces Sandy Woods, who became the Fairgrounds’ Chief Executive Officer at the beginning of the year.
