HIBERNIAN SEASON 2010/2011 REVIEW

Hibernian FC manager Jamie Macnab has put pen to paper on a new 2 year extension to his contract. Macnab was surprisingly named as Hibs boss 2 years ago but in those 2 years he has guided Hibs to a 3rd & 4th place finish as well as 2 cup finals. Galbraith Signs For Hibs

Today Hibernian manger Jamie Macnab was pleased to announce the signing for Daniel Galbraith on a free transfer from Manchester Utd. “I am looking forward to working with young Danny. He has great ability and I’m sure the hibs fans will love his style of play” added Macnab.

Pre Season Friendly’s 13th July

Bournemouth 1 - 0 Hibernian Jamie Macnab fielded a strong Hibs side including new signing Galbraith but it was Bournemouth who won the game 1 nil. Macnab made a lot of changes at half time but still couldn’t find an equalizer.

16th July

Sheffield Utd 4 – 4 Hibernian With Hibs again fielding a very young team they found themselves 4 nil down in the first half. Manager Macnab changed the whole team at half time bringing on the likes of Riordan, Commons and Zemmama. Hibs produced a stirring second half display to come back to level the game 4 -4 with goals from Commons, Galbraith and a double from O’Connor.

18th July

Swansea 1 – 0 Hibernian Macnab tried the same tactic as in the previous game with Sheffield Utd but unfortunately for them Swansea where

the better team. Although it finished 1 nil it could have been far worse for the hibees.

24th July

Hibernian 3 – 0 Selkirk Hibernian fielded a new trialist for this game which turned out to be none other than former Italian world cup winner Marco Materazzi. Macnab fielded a strong team and that showed as they strolled the first have with 3 goals coming from Zemmama and a double from Kris Commons. The whole team was changed at half time but Hibs couldn’t score any more goals. Damiano Tommasi came on in the second half as a trialist.

25th July

JAMES BROWN SIGNS FOR HIBS

Hibernian today captured the signing of 23 year old Hartlepool striker James Brown. Following his £700,000 move “I am delighted to have joined Hibernian. They are a fantastic club with a lot of history and have a great support” said Brown. James Brown scored 17 goals last season for Hartlepool.

28th July

ITAILIAN WORLD CUP WINNER SIGNS IN AT EASTER ROAD

Hibernian today signed 36year old Marco Materazzi on a free transfer.”I’m delighted to have secured Macros signature. He may not be young anymore but he is still a fantastic professional and I am sure will be a massive player for us” said a clearly delighted Macnab.

29th July

Trialist Damiano Tommasi signed a 2 year deal at Easter Road. The Italian joins fellow Italian Materzzi at Easter Road as Hibs look to bolster their defense for the forthcoming season.

EURO CUP 3rd Qual. Rnd Leg 1

Hibernian 1 – 1 LASK A disappointing day for the hibees as they couldn’t make their chance count. Hibs were stunned after only 11 minutes when LASK took the lead but that lead only lasted 7 minutes as Danny Galbraith scored the equalizer. Hibs threw everything at LASK but couldn’t find the winning goal. M.O.T.M – Danny Galbraith Attendance – 13598
