WORKING DRAWING
The objectives of this Project are to assess the student’s knowledge and application of mechanical design and drafting.
Materials (Equipments/Tools/Components) : 1 set Computer ( AutoCAD program installed ) Removeable Drive / Thumb Drive Plotter / Printer Complete Module / Notes / Drawings
Procedure: 1.

The project requires that you visit your library or workshop to locate the assembly of parts related to engineering product. Select the assembly which contains not more that 10 parts. Before creating the assembly, first observe (study) the part and analyze the feature involved in the part. This is called feature-based construction. (Building one over the other) Produce a detail drawing for Part that contains the information needed. The scale, layout and choice of views are at the student’s discretion. The detail drawing must include a title block with: Title, Scale, Projection symbol and Part information. Produce a detail drawing for Part that contains the information needed. i. Shape description ii. Size description iii. Specifications iv. Additional drawing information Produce a General Assembly drawing. The assembly drawing should show the mechanism in specified working position. The scale, layout and choice of views, sections are at the student’s discretion. The assembly drawing must include a title block, Bill of Materials and Balloons.

Output : You are required to produce : A Short report of your Final Project. Your report should include the nature of the assembly, the functionality of the assembly and the drawing print-out of the assembly. a) Assembly Drawing ¾ Orthographic drawing of Assembly showing all parts ¾ Produce Assembly on A2 sheet. b) Detail Drawing ¾ Detail drawing ¾ Produce all details of the part on the same sheet.
Assessments will be based on this requirement :
Assessment Checklist All Sheets ¾ Material, any treatment and finish ¾ Dates, issue and signatures ¾ Units used, overall tolerances ¾ Title and Drawing number ¾ Projection stated and correct ¾ Overall dimension tolerances Details Drawing ¾ Dimension and tolerances applied correctly ¾ Geometric tolerances applied satisfactorily ¾ Views and sections chosen correctly ¾ Drawing standards Assembly Drawing ¾ Views and sections chosen correctly ¾ Reference correct ¾ Parts list correct ¾ Drawing standards Originality
