The story of Granpa’s rakia

GRANDPA’s PLUMP RAKIA Vintage 1979

It was the autumn of 1979 … The plum crops were really good this year. Grandpa harvested the ripe plums and few months later, following the old family tradition and recipe passed on from father to son, distilled the rakia. He sipped the elixir – the taste was exactly what it had to be – warm and gentle - he could feel the sun kissing the plums, the wind whispering in the branched of the plum trees, the freshness of the mountain air … “This is the one!”, he said to himself. “This is the Rakia, I will lock in the secret cellar to say Cheers! With at my grandchildren's’ weddings.” And he did so, keeping it there in the dark, cold vault for 30 long years … This day comes today 7th Jun 2009 Ella and Stefan’s wedding!
