The number of the population in some countries is declining as in our country, but in some developed countries such as the UK and the US it is growing a lot. Both countries: the UK and the USA have welcomed immigrants from around the world throughout their history, which made them to be the most multicultural countries in the world. The greatest similarity that exists between these countries is that they have the birth rate higher than the death rate. In the UK, the birth rate is 12.26 births/1,000 population and the death rate is 9.33 deaths/1,000 population. At the same time in the USA the birth rate is 13.66 births/1,000 population and the death rate is 8,39 deaths/1,000 population. Another fact is that the population of these countries live in urban areas, for example: 80% of total population from the UK live in urban ares and 82% of total population from the USA live in urban areas too. Another similarity between these countries is that most people from these countries follow as a religion, Christianity. The Roman Catholic Church is the second largest denomination of Christianity in these countries. There are also some communities that practice: Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism. Hand in hand with similarities go the differences between these two marvelous countries. Firstly, the main difference between these countries is that English is Great Britain’s official language, while the United States does not have an official language, one that by law must be used for government, business and education. On the other hand, the capital of the UK (London) is the most densely populated city in this country with 8.615 million people, more than the capital of the USA (Washington, D.C.) has, the number of population in this Washington, D.C. is 4.421 million. Another difference between these countries is that the life expectancy is higher in the UK than in the USA. Life expectancy is 80.29 years for the whole UK’s population, but the USA’s life expectancy is 78.62 years for the whole country’s population. In conclusion, even if these countries have a human geography that totally differs, immigrants have added much richness to culture of these countries. Most immigrants choose to live in one of these countries because these countries provide decent life conditions and have hight standats in medical, political, educational systems. 1
