Ecolane DRT delivers excellent results Ecolane DRT™ software has been in use in a large-scale DRT service "Helsinki DRT" in the Helsinki Capital area since beginning of the year. The service is operated by a Ecolane Partner and there are several transportation companies taking care of the actual transportation. The transportation companies have independent agreements with the City of Helsinki, and Helsinki DRT operator is feeding them combined routes as well as single trips. ACTUAL REAL-LIFE SYSTEM PERFORMANCE STATISTICS - Trips per Day: 1500+ - Dedicated Fleet Size: 30-60 depending on time of day - Number of External Taxi Systems: 4 (for overflow) - External Taxi Systems Fleet: 1500 vehicles - Geographical Service Area: 765 km2 - Real-Time Combining Rate (average): 42 % - Number of Trips Booked within 1h from Departure: 31 % Another interesting note in the actual performance data is that the effeciency of combining and therefore fleet utilization is even improving as the volumes grow. This is naturally possible as in a growing trip volume also the likelyhood that somebody is going about the same direction about the same time is increasing. All this is possible due to characteristics of the Ecolane DRT software combining automatically in real-time.
