Eco-tour with Snorkeling in the Amazon July 20th – August 2nd, 2009
The OTTER In 2009 our 2nd Snorkeling trip will be from July 20th a Monday, to August 2nd a Sunday. After the great success of our July 2008 snorkeling trip, we are offering another chance at this great adventure in the Amazon in a 14-day/13-night trip where you will be able to drift snorkel in the clear waters of a beautiful stream covered in underwater vegetation, true underwater gardens. This is a very special trip going more than 200 miles up the “Rio Negro” river to a clear water stream ideal for snorkeling, On our way there we will take several canoe rides through the rivers and flooded forest areas, swim in the tea colored waters of several rivers, take a few walks through the jungle, visit natives in their huts and small villages, and the village of “Novo Airao” where you can swim with the pink dolphins and visit the arts and crafts school. Our boat the ‘OTTER’ is 88 feet long and 24,6 feet wide, has four decks, 8 double cabins with large twin beds, one cabin with a double bed, individual air conditioning units in each cabin, all with private bath, and hot water showers. On the first deck we have the command, five passenger cabins, crew quarters, kitchen and service areas. On the second deck we have four passenger cabins, a 350 square foot enclosed dining room, a small open veranda, and service areas. On the third deck we have two covered verandas one in the front and one in the back, one sun deck area with an outdoor Jacuzzi, showers, a bar, a toilet and a nice 250 square foot enclosed living room. The fourth is a 360° panoramic sun deck.
