ECLIPSE AND ITS TYPES Eclipse-
It is the formation of the shadow. There are two types of eclipse. 1. Solar eclipse 2. lunar eclipse Solar eclipse- When the moon comes in between the sun and the earth, in the same line, a part of the light reaching the earth from the sun is obstructed and the solar eclipse takes place. This happens in the new moon day.

Lunar eclipse-
When the earth comes in between the sun and the moon, the light reaching the moon from the sun is obstructed by the earth. This makes the moon invisible to the observer to the earth i.e the lunar eclipse takes place. This happens on the full moon day.
