Don’t bob your head Pigeon - a member of the dove family Pigeon uses in the bible: Purification of Women after childbirth. Lev. 12:6,8 God's covenant with Abram Gen 15:1 Burnt offering Lev 1:1 Sin offerings lev 5:7, 5:11; 15:14; 15:29; Num 6:10; Luke 2:24 Purification of Lepers lev 14:22,30 Have you ever wondered why a pigeon walk so funny? A pigeon walks the way it does so it can see where it’s going. Since a pigeon can’t adjust its focus as it moves, it actual has to bring its head to a complete stop between steps in order to refocus. (Show how it’s done) As church members, we often have the same problem as the pigeon. We have a hard time seeing while we’re moving. We need to stop between steps to refocus on where we are in relation to the world and the will of God. Pigeons, like most birds, have eyes on the sides of their heads, their visions basically monocular (1 : of, involving, or affecting a single eye 2 : suitable for use with only one eye), and they bob their heads for depth perception. Birds with front-faced eyes, like owls, have binocular vision, and, like people, don't have to bob their heads. The bobbing actually takes place to preserve monocular acuity. Here's how it works. For an animal with side-mounted eyes, forward movements result in parallax shifts (apparent motion of near objects relative to distant objects). Now, vertebrate eyes--and retinas--work much better with completely stationary images. So what happens is that the bird's body walks on while the head is temporarily left behind to stabilize the image. The head is then jerked forward at the start of the next step.

Romans 12:4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. In a recent book on production evangelism it states: 80 % of the church must be planting (inviting) tell about cards 50 % of the church must be cultivation (friendship evangelism) bible studies – changing lives 10 % of the church must be harvesting (soul winners) teaching people to reach people We must develop a plan to reach our city. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

We must pray. Remember the zeal you had as a new babe in Christ. (get it back) Understand what God wants us to do as a member of his body (job) Put a plan together to complete the job he has given us. Set personal goals, 1 month, 1 year, 2 years, and 5 years.

Remember your job may or may not be proportional to the job God gives your neighbor. Paul told timothy to do the job of an evangelist. (2 Timothy 3:5) Evangelist: One who teaches, preaches, or converts to Christianity.
