j'is an analyst with .deep expertise on the Persian Gulf and the Middle East. \e joined CIA in 1976 working /On oil and energy security issues,/with tours at both the'1 NSC and DOE. In 1969, he served as liaison' to the US military in the Persian Gulf. In 1991, he was Deputy. Division Chief of the Persian Gulf Division of /the Office of Near Eastern and South Asian Analysis, he was named Division Chief/in 1992. He was named the NIO for Near East,-and South Asia in August 1-995. In Novermbe'r 1999,; he was named Deputy Chief, of the DCI .Counterterrorist Center. He served as Director of the Office of Near Eastern, South Asian and African Analysis i-ht 2002 before being assigned as the Deputy Iraq Mission Manager for the Agency at the end o'f 2002. | / | are already working to prepare I I for the hearing.

jhas been gathering data regarding th'e 9/11 plot since the stand up of the Review Group in 20.01, he has expertise/and has participated in several briefings for the Commissioners and staff as well as the DCI's interview; he is comfortable in the hearing setting.j I'will brief from a coordinated CIA/FBI paper. We do not expect tp challenge the fundamental findings of the staff statement, as we find very little differences between our view and the staff's.
