Signage for a Better City Design for Society instructor Katherine Szeto date Monday 14 / Wednesday 16 August 2006
introduction
The city is a place where millions of people from all classes, wealth and situation live together. It is a busy place filled with architecture, automobiles and activity. At times there is so much going on that things appear chaotic and out of control. The government will often intervene to provide order in this chaos. Among the different manners of intervention, the city will post signs providing direction and regulation, as well as information. This helps to keep the city in good working order.
