Project Tree: Tasks Understanding the data represented by a task (and the time entry that is created when a task is dragged to the Activity Grid) is critical to a full understanding of the other types of items that appear in the Project Tree. The properties of a task are described below: Task Properties Property Task Name Project Name Default Comment

Billable

Account Code Client Billing Rate Project Starts: Project Ends

Description The name of the task. The name of the task's parent project, if any. The comment that will be included with time entries for the task unless it is modified or replaced during editing of a time entry. Is the task billable or not. This is an especially valuable property for consultants and others who bill their time, but can also be used to distinguish between, for example, vacation time and work time. This property is specifically intended for consultants and others who bill their time. It is used to define a "job code" or 'billing code" that is associated with the task. It is a "text" field, so it can include mixed alpha and numeric values. The name of the client for whom the task is being done. The hourly billing rate for the task. The date (or other text) describing when the project starts. The date (or other text) describing when the project ends.
