BASIC OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH SEMINAR

Course Objectives: General 1. Increase the number of competent OSH personnel qualified to carry - out the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS). 2. Promote and maintain safe and healthy workplaces in different industries through the prevention and control of occupational hazards, risks, accidents, injuries and illness.

Specific  After the completion of the course, participants shall be able to apply basic OSH knowledge and skills in the effective implementation of OSH programs and activities in different workplaces. Specifically the participants shall be able to:

1. Identify and explain relevant OSH legislations and requirements to guide management in complying with the Philippine Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS). 2. Demonstrate and apply the basic knowledge and skills in recognizing, identifying and evaluating workplaces risks and hazards and recommend a systematic and appropriate approach or program for their assessment and control.

3. Effectively conduct safety and health inspection, work accident investigation and analysis and evaluation of safety performance; 4. Apply the fundamental concepts and elements of safety and health programming. 5. Perform other related duties of a safety officer prescribed by OSH Standards.
