The 15th annual District 6 Halloween Party will be held on Saturday October 31, 2009 from 4 to 7 pm at the Denver Police District 6 Station at 1566 Washington St. This free event has become a family tradition for many neighborhood families. Last year approximately 2,000 children and their families attended. The event is geared for children under 12 years of age, accompanied by a responsible adult. The purpose of the event is for children to have a safe and fun environment to enjoy Halloween.

Some of the scheduled events include the opportunity of the children having a personal photograph with a police officer, obtaining a picture identification card, trick or treat lane with lots of candy, a haunted tent, a haunted bus, fire trucks, ambulances, police cars, the real CSI, SWAT officers and equipment, face painting, police horses, and police motorcycles. Also there will be a special appearance of McGruff, the crime fighting dog.

The event will be held regardless of the weather. Many of the events are outside, so it is important to dress accordingly. Public parking is extremely limited, so car pooling and drop off/pick up is highly recommended.

The event is free to the public. It is a joint venture with the private community and hosted by the Denver Police Department. It is 100% funded by private donations. No City funds are used to sponsor this event. If you would like to make a monetary contribution or should you have any questions, please call 720.913.2800.
