MY REFLECTION FOR THE PREVIOUS YEAR 2008 I had been a bit wiser with how I have spent the year 2008. Almost the past yearround, I was busy with school stuff and family activities. Though busy, I still had some time to unwind and chill-out. It is safe enough to say that my year 2008 was fairly spent and with a balance between my academic, family, spiritual, and social life. My previous whole year of effort and determination paid out well; consequently, I can say that I have somehow achieved gradual advancement of my goals and objectives in life. With my achievements, I had another taste of how it is to gain what one has desired for sometime. Such feeling of success brought me a drive to advance my goals another mile. On this manner, I can say that my level of satisfaction has slightly elevated to a higher notch. The purpose of one’s existence is as ambiguous as what lies ahead in the future. Personally, I can say that it is yet to be discovered, for having a fixed purpose makes one stagnant: being unable to morph into a better person, for a better life. With my experiences in 2008, I have learned well from my mistakes, from my mentors, and from myself. These learnings have equipped me well in my everyday living, in this journey called life. I know I could have done better. This is a statement that would signify a continuing spirit to surpass what one has achieved. May it be in the demands of my family, friends, society, and spirituality, each day that comes I consider an opportunity to improve, to become a better person, and to embark on greater heights. I have gained some achievements in my academic career last year. Passing my subjects is something. Getting grades higher than the cut-off is another story. Things I failed to achieve include getting over my Mañana habit, and most of all my attitude of sloth. Consolidating the achievements I had last year while diversifying my losses is easy. One has just to recall moment’s of success; the ecstatic feeling and the moments of jubilation. Then, concentrate on those things. Consider them as a must. Why? Simply because it feels good, makes the people around you, and yourself happy. Never take your eyes of that scenario. What matters now is on how you put your mind over your body: to think before you do or don’t do something, and to consider yourself as the master of your own actions.
