Program Welcome to the COSAD Annual Benefit Event for the people of Tanzania! Current projects in the Bukoba area (near Lake Victoria) are in place to promote economic independence and community development, improve health, and increase literacy.

6 p.m. social hour | Silent Auction 7 p.m. East African Dinner 7:30 p.m. Presentation | Guest Speakers Awards Speakers: The Honorable Kjell Bergh, Consul of the United Republic of Tanzania, Professor Aldin Mutembei, Princeton University

8 p.m. Swahili Choir of Minnesota Performance 8:30 p.m. End of silent Auction Bidding 9 p.m. Open Dance Floor! Funds raised in this event will help sustain these projects: TACE - Tanzania Community Enterprise fund CHAI - Community Health Awareness Initiative Bruce Lane Johnson Community Resource and Learning Center OWOG - One Woman One Goat initiative “Bridge to Bukoba” Volunteers –coming to Bukoba, October 2009

Silent Auction The Silent Auction closes at 8:30 P.M. All bids must be submitted by this time. Payments will be accepted in cash, checks or credit card.

Join The Serengeti Club! Your contribution is critical to fulfilling the mission of COSAD. Play a vital role in the global village and join other community members in supporting microeconomic and health initiatives in Tanzania. You can make a difference in the lives of others! Simba (Lion) Circle Your donation of $5000 could pay for 20,000 books to be shipped from Books for Africa to Bukoba to start the first library in the region.

Tembo (Elephant) Circle Your donation of $1000 could provide a one year scholarship to nursing school to a young woman chosen by her village. Faru (Rhinoceros) Circle Your donation of $500 could fund 5 new businesses with no-interest microloans. When paid back they go toward new business ventures. Nyati (Buffalo) Circle: Your donation of $100 could purchase a goat for a widow. The milk can be sold and the first kid born is given to another family in need. Chui (Leopard) Circle Your donation of $50 could pay a construction worker one month’s salary to work on building the community center and clinic.
