Short Story Writing Contest Rules A.

Eligibility This contest is open to all Filipinos who are either residing in Ansan or any part of Korea.

B.

Theme and Content 1.

The story must be original either fiction or nonfiction, not previously published in print or online, and shall be within 1,000 to 1,500 words, typeset as word file document and written either in English or Tagalog. For nonfiction story, it must be factually accurate and credit must be given to any sources used by the author.

2. C.

The theme for the contest is: "Paskong Pinoy sa Korea"

Submission 1.

Only one entry per person shall be accepted.

2.

Entries maybe submitted starting on October 19, 2009, via email ([email protected]). The deadline of submission will be on November 30, 2009. No entries shall be accepted beyond this date.

3.

All entries shall be considered property of the Galilean Newsletter.

4.

Each entry submitted must be a work of one person and may not be the collective work of more than one person. By submitting an entry, applicants certify that their entry are original, authored solely by them and do not infringe upon the rights of any third parties.

D.

Criteria for Judging 1.

All entries will be judged by a selected panel of judges coming from the Editorial team of Galilean and selected AFC volunteers chosen by the editorial team.

The winning story will be announced on December 20, 2009 during the celebration of AFC Christmas party at Choji Welfare Center.

The winner will be awarded with a plaque and cash and all participants shall be given Certificate of Appreciation.

E.

Others 1.

All stories submitted may be used or published in whole or in part by Galilean Newsletter. AFC Newsletter Team reserves the right not to publish any story it deems inappropriate for any reason.

2.

AFC Newsletter Team reserves the right not to award a prize or any prizes to entries that do not meet the contest standards or criteria.
