Controllers Signal heads LED Lights Pedestrian Beeper system Count down timer Vehicle actuated System

b) Intelligent Transport system 1) Area Traffic control System

Urban Traffic Management and Control (UTMC) is a way of monitoring, operating and controlling traffic lights through a computer. The computer uses information gathered from sensors in the road to decide whether traffic is getting heavy or congested on a particular road. When it does, the computer changes the timing of traffic lights to let the traffic move more freely, so reducing hold-ups 2) Bus Priority system: The CMS Bus priority system is a subsystem of CMS Area Traffic Control system. 3) Red light enforcement

CMS Traffic Systems leads the industry with the advanced Red-light camera & Speed Enforcement Systems. It combines advanced video-detection technology

with roadside video cameras to provide intersection monitoring for red light violation enforcement and improved intersection safety. 4) Closed circuit television

The Closed Circuit TV system is based on the vast engineering expertise of CMS and has been designed keeping in mind simplicity of operation, reduction of operator fatigue, ease of installation, high performance & reliability for many years to come. The mere presence of Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras deters criminal activity by both customers and employees. Video footage has been effective in helping employers and police identify crimes including shoplifting, employee theft, credit card fraud, customer return fraud, burglary, vandalism, armed robbery and more. ` 5) Parking management systems

From the original design of a parking system to the collection of enforcement revenues, CMS Advance Parking System handles each and every step. CMS Traffic represents only the finest in electronic on- and off-street parking equipment and are always on the lookout for the newest technologies. By tapping our operational, equipment and management experience, CMS Traffic provide

our clients with professionally managed systems, improved revenues and increased customer satisfaction. 6) Variable Messaging signs

The CMS range of Variable Message Sign equipment is the intelligent choice to convey up-to-the-minute information quickly and efficiently. Based on the most modern Light Emitting Diode technologies coupled to intelligent, computerised control systems, CMS Variable Message Signs ensure that your target audience has up-to-date decision support information at all times. CMS Variable Message Signs employ the latest generation Light Emitting Diode (LED) and associated control technology. Signs are supplied as single colour, dual-colour or full colour, text only (numerous languages available) or text and graphics, depending on the application. 7) Emergency telephone systems

The CMS Emergency Telephone is a versatile, easy to use, high visibility telephone. It provides a dedicated reliable and safe communication link between the user and the operator at the control centre, making it ideally suited as an emergency telephone or as a help/information point. This system conveys accident reports, breakdown notifications or other problems on major roads and highways. 8) Video incident detection systems

This concept of Active Video Surveillance consists of a system working in the background on all pictures while the operators are focusing on other tasks and are ready to take over in case of incident signaled by the system. This results in a better use of our resources enabling operators to concentrate on true security and safety issues instead of monitoring screens. This technology allows conciliating the growth of our traffic monitoring systems while keeping their efficiency at the highest level. 9) Network management systems CMS provides the total networking solution for various sub-system of ITS to be monitored from Central Control Room. CMS have indigenously designed, established first time large systems for specific applications. There is a team of qualified experienced professionals who are in the business of Systems Integration and establishing large computer networks in various environments such as LAN, WAN, MAN and also Hybrid Networks. The data communication channels used by these networks range from predominantly fiber optic cable to UTP cable, satellite communication channels, VHF/UHF media, and even RF. 10) Electronic toll Management systems

Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) uses various technologies that allows the manual in-lane toll collection process to be automated in such a way that customers do not have to stop and pay cash at a toll booth. With ETC, an actual toll plaza is not even a requirement to collect tolls. The ETC equipment can be mounted on overhead gantries and/or in the pavement, which allows vehicles to be charged while they proceed at highway speeds. 11) TCC and Weigh in motions

Portable Traffic Counter – Classifier System (P-TCC) Portable TCC is highspeed traffic data collection instrument for Counting & Classifying vehicles by using combination of Piezoelectric Sensors & inductive loops or only with inductive loops. b) Thermoplastic Road Marking Material.

CMS Thermoplastic Road Marking material with its superior visibility and weather resistant durability, allows drivers to feel confident and secure on the road. CMS Thermoplastic Road Marking complies with the highest international standards and is ideal for highways and all other paved roads.

6. Major Traffic Engineering Studies 1. Feasibility study for installation of road traffic signals and co- ordination of signals for Thane Municipal Corporation. This study covers 25 junctions falling under Thane Municipal Corporation limits. Traffic volume survey for the peak periods, inventory study etc were conducted to assess the requirement of road traffic signals. The scope of work also covers the coordination of signals along a main corridor. The recommendations include provision of fixed time signals, vehicle actuated signals and coordinated signals. 2. Geometric improvements and Signal optimisation plans for CNG junction in Surat Municipal Corporation. This is one of the important junctions in Surat city falling on Surat-Navasari road. One arm of the junction leads to Hazira. With future widening plans on the anvil geometric improvement plans were also suggested. From various alternatives, one having road traffic signals were proposed for implementation along with optimum signal plans derived by using TRANSYT 10 . 3. Junction improvement and optimisation plans for Rotlapir Dargah junction in Surat Municipal Corporation. This is one of the important junctions falling on Rander road. With the minor arms having capacity constraint problems coupled with land acquirement problems, oblong Central Island along the main throughfare was suggested as an interim measure.

4. Development of circulation plan and other TEAM measures for Kalyan Municipal Corporation. Kalyan facing acute traffic congestion problems due to the lack of road length development commensurating with the exponential growth in number of vehicles. Traffic volume survey, Parking survey, Inventory study, speed and delay study etc were conducted. Public transport study was also undertaken. Circulation plans were suggested and isolated signal optimisation plans generated by using TRANSYT-10 were proposed for implementation. 5. Geometric improvement and signal optimisation plans for various junctions in AUDA Ahmedabad limits . This study covers two busiest junctions falling along the Ring road in Ahmedabad.Detailed inventory study, traffic volume survey, parking surveys etc. were done. The study recommends geometrical improvement proposals along with optimised signal plans. 6. Study done on co-ordination of signals in Anna Salai in Chennai This study covers analysis of economic benefits due to co ordination of signals on an important arterial road in Chennai. 7. Study conducted on Vehicle actuated signals in Mumbai. The delay at junction was compared with that of fixed time signals and it was found that delay at vehicle actuated signal system was less. 8. Feasibility study conducted for road traffic signals in Kozhikode. Kozhikode, the historical city along the west coast in Kerala is facing problems due to traffic congestion and related maladies. The study covers more than 20 junctions. Proper designs of junctions were given along with optimisation plans Coordination of signals were also recommended by using TRANSYT 10.

8. ITS Projects Undertaken 1.Installation of the Emergency Telephone Systems CMS Traffic systems was entrusted with the job of installing and commissioning Emergency telephone systems on the 96 kms Mumbai Pune Expressway stretch.
