Cross products property- In a proportion, the cross products are equal
Scale drawing- a diagram in which the length and width are the actual to the length and width of the object
Scale- gives the relationship between the drawing’s and the actual objects measurement Ex. 2 inches is 5 feet Scale factor- the ratio of the length and width of the drawing to the actual length and width.
Outcomes- the possible results in an experiment
Event- collection of outcomes
Favorable outcome-outcomes corresponding to an event
Probability- the likelihood of an event to occur
Theoretical probabilities- are probabilities using mathematical reasoning
Experimental probabilities- are probabilities based on trials of an experiment
Markup- difference between retail and wholesale price
Discount- difference between regular price and sale price
Percent of change- new amount – original amount over the original amount
Interest- money paid for the use of money
Principal- the amount you borrow or deposit
Interest rate- percent of increase in the principal
Simple interest- interest is paid only on the principal
Compound interest- interest paid on the principal and on the previously earned interest
