THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD

TODAY’S FOCUS – THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD Jesus commissions his disciples to baptize in his name, reminding them that he is always present through his Spirit. Having ascended to his Father amid cries of gladness, we are to be his witnesses for we have been gifted with his Spirit of wisdom and revelation. Let us, therefore, live in a manner worthy of the call we have received. SCRIPTURE READINGS We need God’s Word each day. HE IS WAITING FOR YOU!

SAVE THE DATE!!

Christ the King Adoration Chapel is scheduled to open June 14th. We would like to thank the more than 225 people that have already signed up. We do have some hours still open and with that in mind are planning a phone bank for Wed. the 26th. If you would like to check the schedule you can find the sheets on the table at the back of the church or go to the church web site. Our ability to participate in Eucharistic Adoration is a blessing to each of us and to our parish family. Your answer to His call to spend time with Him will be a grace filled decision and one that you will never regret.

TAKING A BREAK! The Parish Folk Group provides music for the 10:30 am Sunday Liturgy. As in the past, the summers are difficult for them because of vacations and other commitments with their children so they take a break. This Sunday is their final Sunday until school starts in August. We are very grateful for their generous spirit in sharing their time and talent to provide beautiful music for our liturgies. Under the direction of Pat Jones with the assistance of Mike Elder they have been providing music at Our Lady of Lourdes for over 20 years. Thank you one and all. We will have congregational singing with the organ through the summer at the 10:30 am mass.

May I similarly protect and wisely use the gifts entrusted to me! VOCATION PRAYER Lord God, you so loved the world that you sent your only son, Jesus, to bring eternal life to those who believe in him. I join him in his prayer for laborers in your harvest. May your Holy Spirit inspire and strengthen generous men and women to continue his mission in the world. May this same Spirit make known to me your will in my regard. Where you lead, I will follow.
