Mar. 7, Sat.-Stewardship University, a ministry partnership between MMA and our local faith community, will once again host the popular course, College Planning and Financing, at LMS. This course explores the four uses of money in our culture and how we relate to our money and possessions biblically. Mar. 13, Fri.- Fireproof, the new and popular Christian movie on marriage will be shown at our church on Friday, March 13, at 7:00 p.m. Nursery care and “The Prince of Egypt” will be provided for children. -PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO Fellowship Meal on Sunday, March 1. It has been rescheduled to March 22; this to celebrate the licensing of Phil Horning as Lead Pastor. It will also provide opportunity to accommodate guests and friends of Phil and Kelly who may attend this special service. -Congratulations to Karen (Miller) and Jon Peterson on their marriage February 14. They were much appreciated. Thanks also to each of you who donated books and magazines. Some are already on the shelves and enhance the library greatly. More donations (recent publications)would be welcome. Kelly Horning has volunteered to send notes representing our church to persons mentioned in Prayer and Share time. Thank you, Kelly! God bless each of you for reaching out to others. –Evangelism and Outreach Committee -The Outreach Committee is trying to find creative ways to invite new people to our church. A small cookbook, with information about the church, to distribute to people recently moved into the area might be one method. Are there volunteers who would like to work with the committee on this cookbook? -If anyone is interested in camping at Woodcrest Retreat the weekend of our church service there (July 24-26), call Woodcrest at 738-2233 to reserve a site. Specify one of the sites for Gehman Mennonite Church. Sites 3-8 (in circle) are blocked out for us. Please reserve your site as soon as possible. Sites are $23.50/night. Currently more sites are available if we need more then 6. -Our District Senior Link Committee has planned a carry-in lunch for February 28, 2009 to be held here at Gehman in our fellowship room in the basement at 12:00 noon. Hot and/or cold foods may be brought. Kaylene Derksen (EMM Associate Director of Development) will be the speaker, telling stories of interest related to the work of EMM. Mark your calendars and place your name on the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board if you plan to attend. If you do not consider yourself a senior and would like to take part in this, please feel free to attend. -Attention Men: You are invited to join the Joyful Men Male Chorus, directed by David Sauder. We will be practicing this Monday evening, February 23 at 7 PM at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church. This chorus will also be a part of the 7th Annual Male Chorus Celebration being held at the Weaverland Mennonite Church on March 29. Practice sessions for this celebration will be March 7 and March 28 from 2-4 PM, and March 29 from 3-5 PM at the Weaverland Church. For more information, contact Wilmer Leaman at 445-4792.
