Songs of Praise Blessed Be Your Name Blessed be Your name, in the land that is plentiful Where Your streams of abundance flow Blessed be Your name Blessed be Your name, when I'm found in the desert place Though I walk through the wilderness Blessed be Your name (Pre-Chorus) Every blessing You pour out I'll turn back to praise When the darkness closes in Lord still I will say (Chorus) Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be Your name Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be Your glorious name Blessed be Your name, when the sun's shining down on me When the world's all as it should be Blessed be Your name Blessed be Your name, on the road marked with suffering Though there's pain in the offering Blessed be Your name (Bridge) You give and take away You give and take away My heart will choose to say Lord blessed be Your name

LITURGY OF THE WORD Please be seated.

The First Lesson: Revelation 2:8-11 Psalm 33 To be read in unison 1

Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous.* Praise befits the upright. 2 Praise the Lord with the lyre;* make melody to him with the harp of ten strings. 3 Sing to him a new song;* play skilfully on the strings, with loud shouts. 4 For the word of the Lord is upright,* and all his work is done in faithfulness. 5 He loves righteousness and justice;* the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord. 13

The Lord looks down from heaven;* he sees all humankind. 14 From where he sits enthroned he watches* all the inhabitants of the earth— 15 he who fashions the hearts of them all,* and observes all their deeds. 16 A king is not saved by his great army;* a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. 17 The war horse is a vain hope for victory,* and by its great might it cannot save. 18 Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,* on those who hope in his steadfast love, 19 to deliver their soul from death,* and to keep them alive in famine. 20 Our soul waits for the Lord;* he is our help and shield. 21 Our heart is glad in him,* because we trust in his holy name. 22 Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,* even as we hope in you.

The Sermon: Please be seated.

The Nicene Creed Please stand.

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The Post-Communion Prayer Please stand and say together

Almighty and everliving God, we thank you for feeding us with the spiritual food of the most precious Body and Blood of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ; and for assuring us in these holy mysteries that we are living members of the Body of your Son, and heirs of your eternal kingdom. And now, Father, send us out to do the work you have given us to do, to love and serve you as faithful witnesses of Christ our Lord. To him, to you, and to the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and forever. Amen The Blessing

14

The Hymn in Recession Please remain standing and sing.

The Wonderful Cross When I survey the wondrous cross, On which the Prince of Glory died, My richest gain I count but loss, And pour contempt on all my pride . See from His head, His hands, His feet, Sorrow and love flow mingled down, Did e'er such love and sorrow meet, Or thorns compose so rich a crown? (Chorus)

Oh the wonderful cross, oh the wonderful cross, Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live, Oh the wonderful cross, oh the wonderful cross. All who gather here by grace draw near and bless Your name. Were the whole realm of nature mine, That were an offering far too small: Love so amazing, so divine Demands my soul, my life, my all!
