We’re looking for bright lights for this big city - people who are consummate communicators, strategic thinkers, brilliant tacticians, low maintenance/high delivery professionals capable of winning confidence, maintaining it and delivering real outcomes that can be measured in our communities. Our relationship with local journalists will have a major impact on how they represent us to local people, who other than direct contact with council will use the media as a source of information about us. The media can shape perceptions. Other media count too – the trade press, nationals, regional papers and increasingly, niche and e-channels. Your brief will be to build on our relationships with the journalists and editors that matters and help us present the council in the best possible light. You’ll be leading a small team.
