SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: To work within the terms of the Terrorism Act 2000, Anti-Terrorism Crime and Security Act 2001 and Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and assist and advise officers within the Region with regards to the benefits of financial investigation and best practice within counter terrorism and domestic extremism operations and investigations. To carry out financial investigations as directed within the provisions of the Terrorism Act 2000, AntiTerrorism Crime and Security Act 2001 Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. Plan and prepare financial investigations, present case material including disclosure of unused material and prepare financial statements and attend for Court if necessary. Investigate suspicious activity reports made by financial institutions under terrorism legislation. Provide guidance and support to the Region in all matters relating to financial investigation, Special Procedure Production Orders, POCA and Terrorism Act production orders, search and seizure warrants, customer information and account monitoring orders. Develop and maintain close liaison with Security Service, NTFIU, SOCA, Customs and Excise, Financial Investigators in other Forces and other agencies to assist in successful prosecutions and ensure the defendant is deprived of any benefit from crime. Deal with enquiries from other jurisdictions received in accordance with the Criminal Justice (International Co-operation) Act 1990 Provide specialist support to major investigations in relation to terrorism financial enquiries

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Experience of interviewing (ideally of an investigative nature) eg PEACE trained. Experience of compiling Court files and a knowledge of the relevant legislation would be advantageous. The post-holder must be computer literate, and ideally hold a full driving licence or be able to travel around the Force area using alternative transport.
