For Immediate Release

November 19, 2009

On 11/19/2009, at 7:30 a.m., an 18 year old female Bakersfield High School student reported that as she was walking in the 300 block of California Avenue, she was approached by a suspect who asked if she needed a ride. The student refused the ride and walked away only to be contacted a few blocks later by the same suspect who grabbed her arm and told her to go with him. The student pulled away from the suspect who then grabbed her buttocks as she ran away. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, mid 20's, 5’8” -5’10” thin build, having a bald or shaved head and a dark complexion, who was wearing a gray sweater with lettering on the front and light blue jeans. Prior to the assault the suspect was seen standing near a lowered maroon 1990's mini truck, possibly a Chevrolet, with aftermarket rims. Anyone with information related to this offense is encouraged to call the Bakersfield Police Department Investigations Division at 326-3846.
