For Immediate Release

October 27, 2009

The attached Critical Reach Flier relates to a Bakersfield run away, Alyssa Brandon. Brandon is considered at risk because she is a first time runaway and she had been communicating with a 14 year old boy in Jerome, Idaho by telephone and via Myspace. She was last seen by her parents on Wednesday, 10/21/09 at 9:00 a.m., and was believed by them, to be en route to Idaho. Law enforcement in Idaho was notified and the boy and his family were contacted. According to them, Brandon was not expected there. On 10/26/09, investigators recontacted Amtrak and discovered that on 10/21/09, a Caucasian male 45, 5'7”, 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes inquired about fares to Jerome, Idaho, which is the area investigators suspected Brandon was en route to. This unidentified man then took a taxi to Fresno California. Brandon does have family in the Fresno area; however, they have indicated they are unaware of Brandon's whereabouts. Investigators have been in contact with and are working with law enforcement in Fresno.
