Both human and language cannot be separated, because it has an important role in their lives. They use language to communicate with each other, whether directly or indirectly. Furthermore, mutual understanding between the speaker is an important point of communication, if one of the parts not properly working, it can cause a problems. Today, many people misinterpret an utterance when communicating, either because of misreading or misunderstanding the intended message and it could lead to a conflict that will hurt the others. That is become a reason by learning language not only grammatical structures which need attention, but people need to know about how to deliver a message and context in the language. Pragmatics is one of the study of speaker meaning or what speakers mean. Communication is clearly not only depends on recognizing the meaning of words in an utterance but also recognizing what speakers mean by their utterances (Yule, 2010). Spoken communication delivered by one single person to many audiences with the aim of conveying thoughts and ideas is called speech. Usually done by someone who has a big influence in a community. Donald Trump is a president of
America, he has a considerable influence in his country, by becoming the first man in America it is easy for him to take the voice of Americans. His speech about Immigration received a response from his party's opponents, Democratic party, which delivered by Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck. Donald Trump has a full ambition to build a border wall between Mexico and America, he assesses that the construction of the wall will prevent crimes caused by legal immigrants. On the other hand, there are those who disagree with his decision. Basically, Republican party whom majory Donald trump, in assence always has different of opinion with Democratic party. Those two big parties have always competed to dominate America. Every speech and utterance have always point on something, it could be to a person or community. In understanding speech, it is necessary to understand the relationship between the language used, the context in which the speech occurs and to whom the speech was addressed. Expressions such as him, her, they and so other are examples of language that understand in terms of the speaker’s intended meaning. They are known as Deixis. Deixis is one of an important notion in Pragmatics (Yule, 2010). Based on the explanation above, Donald Trump, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer are point on something in their speech. This is the important role of Deixis that the writer will discussed about so there will be no mistakes and can easily understand by the reader.
Research Question Based on the background above, the researcher tries to get understanding about Deixis by following the questions below: 1. What the person of deixis is spoken in Donald Trump’s speech on Immigration and The Democratic Response? 2. Whom is addressed in Donald Trump’s speech on Immigration and The Democratic Response? Purpose of Research Based on the research question above, the objectives of this research are: 1. To analyse the person of deixis are spoken in Donald Trump’s speech on Immigration and The Democratic Response. 2. To find out whom addressed in Donald Trump’s speech on Immigration and The Democratic Response. Significance of Research Theoretically, the research of this study is expected to contribute more and enrich the comprehension in understanding of Deixis. However, practically, this research could one of references material for the reader and expert, or society in this English Departement whom interest in analysis of Deixis.

Personal Deixis Personal Deixis is the grammatical category of person directly reflects the different roles that individual play in the speech event, such as: speaker, addressee, and referents which are neither speaker nor addressee. (Levinson, 2006) 2. Speech Speech is spoken communication delivered by one single person to many audiences with the aim of conveying thoughts and ideas. 3. Donald Trump Donald John Trump is the 45th and current president of the United States. He was born and raised in New York, United States. He was a businessman before entering politics. He come from the Republican Party. 4. Democratic Party Democratic party is one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United States, along with the Republican Party.
