Sister School Luncheon Fundraiser - Thank you to all the KZV moms and community members who attended the KZV sister school luncheon fundraiser on January 24th . Our community was able to raise more than $2,500 for our sister school in Oshagan, Armenia. This money will go toward the project just completed to get running water to the school. In addition in 2009, the funds will purchase some classroom supplies for the school such as white boards and maps. Many, many thanks again for your continued support as well as to the committee members whose efforts make this possible: Hasmig Samurkashian, Caroline Aristakessian, and Vera Balushian. Grandparents Day at KZV will be held on Wednesday, May 13th. Please mark your calendars

Please mark your calendars. Dues and Fees Reminder – Together with your $30 per family PTA fee, the second half of the Hot Lunch payment is already due. At your earliest convenience please drop off your payment in the PTA box located in the school office. Statements will be sent out shortly. Hot Lunch – The February Hot Lunch menu has been posted on the PTA bulletin board and is also available on-line at www.KZV.org. Please note that the menu will rotate the “Top Ten” favorite meals of our students – a few of our new dishes which we tried out earlier in the year did not fare very well, and were thus removed. We apologize for a somewhat routine menu, however our goal is to accommodate the tastes of as many of our students as possible. 8th Grade Pizza – The 8th Grade pizza lunch Fridays are as follows: March 27th, April 17th, May 22nd, June 12th. The KZV Armenian School Parent Teacher Association (A.S.P.T.A.) has a tradition of contributing its members' volunteer time and talents to help improve the school facilities and programs. The PTA plans and serves the school's hot lunch program and sponsors various school fundraisers throughout the year, including chocolate sales, bake sales at various school programs, school calendar sales, and the SCRIP program, through which a percentage of families' store purchases are contributed to KZV. Proceeds from these projects have helped update
KZV's computer lab, library, playground, and after-school programs. The PTA gives a yearly report about its activities at KZV's Back to School Night each Fall. All parents are welcome to participate in the PTA's activities. Volunteers for the hot lunch program are an important regular need, and parents are encouraged to satisfy their parent volunteer hours' expectations through this and other PTA programs.
