Associated Student Government Budget Request 2009-2010
Main Budget Points: - 0% overall increase - Overhaul of funding processes to increase equitability and efficiency - Successful restructuring of programming to Campus Activities Council
After
a
year
with
a
budget
increase
of
6.6%,
Associated
Student
Government
respectfully
requests
a
0%
budget
increase
as
outlined
below.
While
Associated
Student
Government
has
many
new
needs,
we
find
it
prudent
that
given
the
current
budget
climate
of
the
state
of
Ohio
and
Miami
University
that
we
maintain
our
current
allocation
and
find
ways
to
make
every
dollar
count.
Over
the
past
year
student
government
has
overhauled
its
funding
processes
to
provide
for
a
more
equitable
and
efficient
system,
but
with
these
changes
have
come
many
costs
that
will
last
through
the
next
academic
year.
This
year
student
government
has
also
seen
the
successful
restructuring
of
it’s
programming
which
deferred
many
expenses
from
our
Operating
Costs
into
Campus
Activities
Council
(CAC).
CAC’s
involvement
with
these
events
and
the
Bicentennial
Celebration
has
been
positive,
but
has
come
with
increased
costs
as
the
events
have
been
expanded
and
improved.
Student
government
appreciates
the
support
the
University
gives
it
and
will
continue
spend
the
funds
given
to
it
efficiently.
