Principal’s Message

April 2019

Has spring finally sprung? We certainly are looking forward to some warmer weather coming back from spring break. Students are already taking advantage of milder temperatures to enjoy the playground without the bundling up required by winter. When the temperature rises, rubber boots and a change of clothes are strongly encouraged for the younger students as we have lots of puddles and mud in the school yard! A big thank-you to all the families who came out to the student-led conferences that took place March 14th and 15th. The students and staff of EB have a lot to be proud of and we certainly appreciate the opportunity to show off the students’ accomplishments! Many smiles could be seen as the students guided their loved ones through the halls sharing stories and adventures. An important goal for our school is to help the students improve their speaking skills. We will be holding our 4th annual Conversation-a-thon in the spring. This year we hope to be joined again by the French immersion students from Ecole Selkirk Junior High and the LS High School. We are looking forward to an even bigger and better CONVERSATION-ATHON! Registrations for Kindergarten have already begun! Our annual French Immersion Information evening will take place on Thursday, June 6th. That evening, we will be welcoming students to Kindergarten and introducing families and students to the daily routines of our school. This session is geared to parents who have enrolled or would like to enroll their child in Kindergarten or Grade 1 for the 2019-2020 school year. April 19th there will be no school for students in observance of Good Friday. Monday, April 22nd will be day 3. On behalf of the Bonaventure Team, I wish you a well-deserved Spring Break! PAC NEWS The Spring Fling dance is approaching fast - mark May 3rd on your calendars! Information will be sent home soon to order tickets! Festival du Livre A big thank-you for your support of our Festival du Livre! Sales totaled $3,168.00, surpassing our goal by $500! This money will allow us to purchase new books and to rejuvenate our collection of books in the library. A big thank-you once again on behalf of myself & the students! Vivre le français and keep reading!!

Bicycles / Scooters at School Students riding their bikes and scooters to school are asked to bring a lock with them to lock up outside in the bicycle racks.

Child Care Nursery School Open House and Registration Wednesday, April 3, 2019 5:00 – 7:00 pm Our program provides a variety of open-ended activities in a co-operative, creative and sharing environment two days per week for children aged 3 and 4 years.
