ANB 9, Come and see “Those who see you will gaze at you and consider you, saying, ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms? – Who made the world like a wilderness and overthrew its cities, who would not permit his prisoners to return home?’ All the kings of the nations, all of them lie sleeping in glorious array, each one in his own house. But you are cast away from your tomb like a loathed growth or premature birth or an abominable branch and like the raiment of the slain; and you are clothed with the slain, those thrust through with the sword who go down to the stones of the pit (into which carcasses are thrown), like a dead body trodden underfoot.” (Isaiah 14:16-19). While scholars debate the subject of this passage, make no mistake, so it will be for satan in that day we will all see him after he is thrown into the pit. (Revelation 20:3). But truthfully he is the in the same position today for those that have Jesus Christ in them, most of us just can’t see him. We will pass by him and say, in astonishment, ‘is this the one who wreaked so much havoc in our world and in our individual lives? If we had only known we would have walked in total domination of him from the first day we accepted Jesus into our hearts. Could this really be the one?’ Friends and brethren the Lord has shown me something awesome concerning our authority over satan, and I know I am to share it with you. But first the Word. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. (I Peter 5:8). The devil is roaming the earth seeking who he may devour. he wants to crush you and steal your life. he wants to keep you from ever going to heaven, but more than that he wants to keep you from fulfilling God’s calling and purpose on your life, for if he does that he keeps you from leading others to heaven. “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross; and having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” The Amplified text says. “[Jesus] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].” (Colossians 2:15). You see when Jesus died He was cloaked with our sin, he obtained our sin because He traded His righteousness for it. How else could have a perfect man have entered hell, He could not. This sin allowed him to enter hell, but when He entered He effortlessly removed it and then began taking our freedom and our right standing with God back for us. The scripture said he made a bold display down there, triumphing over everything that was against us. Who is the leader of all that stands against us, satan. The word satan in Hebrew means “adversary, accuser, one who opposes, slanderer.” he is our adversary, he is the one who stands against God’s children. But Jesus went down there and defeated him and all he stands for, taking back the keys to death and hell (Revelation 1:18).
Because he is now the key holder of hell and death, He has made it so that we never have to endure either. I had a dream from the Lord recently (see Acts 2:17, the book of Matthew concerning Joseph, the book of Daniel, or the story of Joseph in Genesis, if that truth troubles you). In my dream I walked through the woods and the devil was there. his appearance truly made me think, ‘is this the one?’ he looked exactly like danny devito in the movie batman returns, only two feet tall. he was hunched over with a disfigured face, pale and disgusting, like an abnormal growth. he wore a ratty tuxedo and carried a cane, for he wants to be important, he wants to have power. But as I saw him in the woods he ran from me. he feared me. I mocked him openly to the point I felt cruel and pittied him he was so disgusting. But while I could have gone and killed him, I still feared him, and I let him get away. As I left the woods I reentered my life, and I knew he was not far behind. While I had gotten away today, I still feared his catching me. I knew I must remain in the Word and stirred up in the Holy Ghost, for I couldn’t have him interfering with God’s plan for my life. You see the devil is no respecter of persons, he hates us all just alike. But he truly hates those of us fulfilling God’s plan for our lives. he wants to attack me, he wants to hurt me, he wants me to stop all that God has me do. As for those of you not currently walking in God’s plan, he hates you too. he hates that you might read the Word, he hates that you might gain wisdom and understanding, he hates that you might learn the authority you have over him. he will do all he can to harm you and hurt your life. What is the greatest hurt a person could ever know, making it to heaven and realizing they did not fulfill God’s plan for their lives. satan wants to devour you, more specifically he wants to devour your fulfillment of your destiny, then he wants to take your life. But when I look at him face to face, he fears me, he will not look at me, and he runs from me. I wondered why and I prayed, and the Lord showed me. When he looks at me he sees Jesus. Now I am not perfect and never claim to be, but Jesus dwells within me and manifests himself to me. (John 14:20). When the devil looks at me he knows that Jesus is within me, and he can’t look at me without being reminded of what Jesus has done to him and for me. Jesus divested him of all his power. What did Jesus do for me when it comes to satan. “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19). Jesus has made it so I can tread over all the power of the enemy. The enemy cannot hurt me. I can and do take him out of my life on a daily basis, he has no right to be here, and he is not here. But why did he remain, and how could he pursue me? Because I still feared him. God gave me this Word so that I would know once and for all that the devil has no power over me. Jesus has given me all the power over satan. I do not and will never again fear him. I fear the Lord, and nothing else.
I’m telling you today, if you permit the devil to remain in your life, if you fear him, you give him access to you. Exercise your Jesus given authority over him. What do you think Jesus gave it to you for? I like to make him mad and mock him. Everything I do maddens him, he is enraged at this teaching now. But he can do nothing to me. I have purged him from my life. Because I resisted and do continually resist him, he has fled and continues to flee (run in a panic) from me. (James 4:7). he flees for he knows that Jesus is within me and he knows the power Jesus has given me. Oh, how I hate him, and he’ll interfere with my life no more. “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:19) Start binding him now, get him ready for that long thousand years he has coming (Revelation 20:2). See him now as nothing but an abnormal growth in God’s perfection, and deal with him accordingly. You had better deal with the devil now rather than get to heaven and realize he dealt with you all your life. Is he stealing your destiny today, are fear and sin robbing you of your destiny? Don’t give him that satisfaction. Make a new commitment to Jesus and your destiny in Him today, and join the body of Christ (the Church) as we continue to trample satan underfoot with all that we do. Thank You Jesus, Praise the Lord.
