SAL LY’S SI LEN T AUC TION Sally’s Silent Auction at the Pre-Teen Center had over 40 items purchased and the auction brought in $622.00. These funds will be used at the Pre-Teen Center to get started for next season. Thanks to all who participated with donations and our many bidders.

We had to purchase a new HPX Vanguard Portable Pump for $3380 due to our other pump and motor being over loaded to the point of blowing up. Call Ranch Office to donate to the C9R Fire Department.

A Fishing Tournament for kids 12 and under was sponsored by the Conservation Committee on September 5th. There were 43 participants. Winners st 1 Place – Garrett Eckhert (18 ½” Catfish) 2nd Place – Gavin Schneider (5 fish caught) 3rd Place – Emily Gibson (Smallest fish caught) Fishing Hours:

BIRDHOUSE PROJECT New birdhouses are going up all over the Ranch and there’s more to come. A workshop to teach children how to build birdhouses will be held on Saturday, September 26th at 10:00 a.m. at the T-Top. Any interested members and guests are invited to attend. Any birdhouse donations to the Conservation Committee will be appreciated. Contact any committee member.

We exceeded our expectations in attendance and there were a few delays, but everyone had a good time and learned a lot about riding horses and the work done at our Ranch stables.

Bob Kohlmiller brought a message last week that touched all of our hearts. “Be Still and Know that I am God” was Bob’s focus. We all need to do just that, even in the midst of turmoil. John West and Dennis Boren led our worship music. Patricia Miles from Little Rock, AR has volunteered to lead our prayer time this Friday on “gratitude”. Friendships are being renewed and new ones are forming as we continue to pray together for unity on the Ranch and in our country. Prayers are lifted up for our Ranch Manager, Board of Directors and employees, as well as personal prayer requests. It is evident

All you need to bring with you is your tent (if you want one), bedding, snacks and something to drink on the trail. (No alcoholic beverages or smoking while riding horseback to campsite). OVERNIGHT HORSEBACK TRAIL RIDE OCTOBER 10 & 11, 2009 SIGN UP NOW (Ages 10 and up)!!!! Call or come by Ranch Office to Sign-up COST: $100.00 PER PERSON $50 DEPOSIT REQUIRED AT SIGN-UP Deposits due by Sept. 15 – No Refunds after Oct. 1st (Cost is $50.00 if you have your own horse) Ranch has 10 horses for this trail ride: 2 that can carry 250+ lb rider, 4 up to 225-250 lb., and 4 up to 200 lbs. for this ride. Ranch furnishes horses, saddle, good trails, evening meal and breakfast, both cooked over an open fire. Trail ride will be approximately 4 hours long to campsite. You should be physically able to ride the casual trails and some trails requiring more strenuous riding. Oct. 10th: Arrive at stables by Noon to load tents, bedding, etc. in trailer. Ride will begin at 12:30PM, reaching Wilderness Way campsite around 4:30PM with a couple of breaks along the way (restrooms and water available at campsite). You will set up camp while our wranglers tend horses and start your evening meal. Evening meal will be hamburgers, hot dogs, settler beans and potatoes (feel free to bring along more if you like). Oct. 11th: Up by 8:00AM. Breakfast served starting at 8:30AM. Tear down camp, load trailer, back on your horse and on the way back to the stables by 10:00AM.

“NEW RANCH RIDERS TRAIL MAP”IS AVAILABLE FROM RANCH RIDER CHAIRMAN. THE NEW TRAIL MAPS WERE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED AND RECEIVED BY ALL WHO SAW THEM AND PURCHASED THEM OVER LABOR DAY. HELICOPTER LANDING PAD

The helicopter landing pad is completed and ready to be used. There is still some landscaping work to be done but most of it is complete. The cost of the project was $1,200 over the donated funds designated for the pad. We are still taking donations to finish the work on this project. Happy Trails And We’ll See You At The Ranch
