FOCUS Brother Conrad “Let us have the Truth though the Heavens may fall.” - Dr Herbert Shelton -

Total, most concentrated focus, upon the reality of the task is an absolute necessity. This focal point of concentration and sustained concentration until the task is completed is a natural ability and must, in my opinion, be steadfastly developed. How can a patient in a hospital deal with several tasks at once? One success leads to the next. How can the airliner cross the Atlantic without the pilot’s vital alertness with wonderful and natural concentration of all energies on the objective moment by moment? It’s lovely to daydream at the appropriate times. The mind certainly needs rests periods between 7

times of all penetrating periods of concentration. In Spain to help us to be at ease in difficult situations demanding all our attention they say ‘poco poco,’ which simply means ‘little by little,’ every step leads to the completed goal. Ever asked yourself the question – ‘Where does this feeling of intense frustration come from?’ I find it comes from being thwarted when I’m trying to do something, when I am distracted and begin to fail and make mistakes. Obviously to get back on course I look at the specific objectives one by one, and so gratefully and with such relief. Frustration gone! Imagine the incredible intense concentration Michelangelo focused to produce the ‘Creation of Adam’ masterpiece on the Sistine Chapel ceiling that thrilled the world, and still does. Almost ‘Finger to Finger’ to the Almighty. How well we do to follow this example, and truly to watch that gap wherein there is all revelation. Actually, completely focused concentration is a wonderful way to love and worship our Creator. Just imagine the glory filling the Heavens as the Lord Himself unites others in His heart to perfect the 8

accomplishment of our objective. It is the Christ who unites us with the two or three or more of the hosts as we keep our focal points in prayer activities. So isn’t it wonderful that we do not have to strive even to find our own companions as happily we pursue our enlightened way! How wise our elders were when they stressed, ‘one good thing leads to the next’ and as a dear old grandma or grandad would say ‘count every blessing.’ I wish also to pay tribute to all the pioneers who are giving their love and support to us in consciousness

as we too keep focused on our Divine objectives. I join you in thanking Walter Russell for example and who was referred to by Glenn Clark as the man who discovered the secrets of the Universe. He reached his hand to the Almighty as the Almighty reached 9

out His hand and through the gap of revelation he was transferred into Divine awareness and most substantially so. Walter Russell had his artistic abilities honed to perfection during a state of unity with God. From a wonderful artist and philosopher he became an inspired sculptor and was to bring forth most wonderful works out of pure marble stone with skills he had never had before. Walter Russell’s own story and philosophy and enlightenments are also given to us all with his beautiful book, “The Divine Iliad.” Thank you Walter. Also thank you to your wife Lao who also wrote a most splendid book of in depth sharing entitled; “ God Will Work With You But Not For You.” Finally and because we are now in cocreatorship with our Creator we are in the factual experience of miracles in the making. HOLY DAYS Brother Andrew

Most people are familiar with the three main religious celebrations that take place at Christmas, Lent and Easter. Of course there are many other Church festivals that take place throughout the year that are less well known. The Holy Days mark events in Jesus’ life that help us to remember what happened to Him and His followers over two thousand years ago. Some of the festivals are celebrated on fixed dates such as Christmas where as others such as Easter is changeable. The Christian calendar grew out of two other calendars, the Jewish and the Roman. The Jewish calendar is based on the lunar cycle, which is variable, and the Roman calendar is based on the solar cycle which is fixed. So it was that the 19

first great Christian festivals sprang from the Jewish ones. These special occasions became known as Holy Days and people were given time off to celebrate the festivals with their families. Hence the words ‘Holy Days’ became corrupted into the word that now tends to apply any time off which is a ‘holiday.’ In many Countries around the world, schools tend to follow Christian ‘Holy Days’ and allow children an average of two weeks off at Christmas and the same period at Easter. Many people are familiar with bank holidays as well. During the Easter holidays and I went away with my wife and children. We spent nine days together in Devon and we had a great time seeing friends and visiting towns and cities in the locale. The break provided a time for relaxation, reading and conversation, not forgetting the opportunity to eat together. Happy days digging on the beach; skimming stones, eating ice creams and playing ball together. Wonderful memories of special times that can be recalled at any time! The memories will allow us to re-live those fleeting moments. 20

Of course holidays need not only provoke happy memories, they may be associated with periods of sadness as well. You and I know from personal experience how traumatic it can be if a loved one becomes ill or dies. These experiences affect the whole family. During our family holiday in Devon I hurt my back and I was in agony! I used strong painkillers until I could make an appointment with the doctor. I couldn’t believe how ‘simple’ tasks could become so challenging! Putting on socks and shoes became a major event involving pain that brought me to the point of tears. Even getting in and out of the passenger side of the car without assistance became almost impossible. Getting in and out of bed became a ‘dreaded’ challenge. As it was Easter, my mind turned to Christ’s suffering on the Cross. My pain paled into insignificance when compared to what Jesus experienced. I recalled that He prayed to God and it reminded me of the power of prayer. I offered thanks to the Father, in the name of Jesus for my wellbeing and for the health and happiness of my family and friends. 21

Within hours of making intercessions to God, my prayers and those of my loved ones became my spiritual and physical triumph over pain and immobility, just as Jesus had triumphed over death through His prayers. God’s love for us is indeed mighty! Those Holy Days in Devon will serve a constant reminder of God’s love for us all and that through our personal prayers linked with those for each other we can overcome difficulties in His strength. I wish you many wonderful holidays and may God protect and bless you, for every day is a Holy Day, thank You Father!

Things Sometimes Happen For a Reason Brother Roy Having come to know many of you over the years has been a wonderful experience, so I would like to share with you the following article that I came across. It is by an Author Unknown who has requested that their writings be shared with those whom one feels has made a difference to their lives. 23

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there...to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out whom you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be but you lock eyes with them, you know that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way. And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would never realize your potential, strength, will power or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of luck. Illness, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test limits of your soul. Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere, safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your 24

heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but also because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things. Make every day count. Appreciate everything that you possibly can, for you may never experience it again. Talk to people whom you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high. Hold you head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create your own life and then go out and live it. - Share this with anyone whom you believe has made a difference in your life!

Your Life’s True Expression Dr. Timothy O’Higgins

Thank You God for Your divine presence expressing from the beginning, in the now, and through all eternity. As we come into union with the divine within, all things are added unto us. As we cooperate with the Christ, the inner dynamism of our lives, the inner power that expresses as life, is manifest as our lives. Divine inspiration guides. Divine fruits are garnered. When guided by self-direction and motivated by selfwilfulness, we separate ourselves from experiencing the source of all wisdom, all energy, and all power. The fruits of a life directed from the within, motivated from the One, were elucidated by St. Paul as the fruits of the Spirit. These fruits were expressed in the lives of many who lived this truth. Four people who expressed this truth were Walter Russell, Thomas Hamblin, Faith Nyquist and Bro. Mandus. 27

Walter Russell in his ‘Message of the Divine Iliad,’ spoke of a new age. “This new age is marking the dawning of a new world-thought. That new thought is a new cosmic concept of the value of man to man. The whole world is discovering that all mankind is one and that the unity of man is real – not just an abstract idea. Mankind is beginning to discover that the hurt of any man hurts everyman and conversely, the uplift of any man uplifts everyman.” He predicted that this new age would lead to a marriage of religion and science. He had gained International renown as a sculptor, artist and architect, prior to becoming the subject of the book, ‘The Man Who Trapped the Secret of the Universe,’ by Glenn Clark. The following are some of the beliefs elucidated by Walter Russell: “Everyone has consummate genius within them. There is but one thinker in the universe and everyone’s thinking is an extension through God, of everyone else’s thinking. Therefore the greater the exaltation and ecstasy of my thinking, the greater the standard of everyone’s thinking. Each person is therefore empowered to uplift all people as each drop of water uplifts the entire ocean. Everyone can multiply their own 28

ability, by almost constant wordless realization of their unity with their Source.” Thomas Hamblin’s spiritual revelations were expressed in his books; ‘Within You is the Power’ and in; ‘The Science of Thought Review.’ He taught that within each person is a source of abundance and when one communicates with this source one’s entire life can change. As long as one blames their circumstances for their quality of life, they are stuck in the ‘victim role.’ By moving into harmony with their inner source, their lives can be full of abundance and harmony. Hamblin taught that: • • • • • •

There is only one life and this is Good. There is only one power in the universe and this is Good. There is only one purpose in the universe and this is Good, infinitely kind and just. There is only one great law governing all and this is Good. There is no evil in the Cosmic scheme. Man creates his own troubles through his conscious and subconscious mind.

Faith Nyquist suffered a cerebral haemorrhage at 29

aged twenty-one, leaving her almost totally blind and with severe limitations in her ability to walk. In a divine encounter, she was totally healed, and underwent a transformation leading to an internal spiritual dialogue. She travelled throughout Europe Asia and North and South America sharing her revelations including the following: “We are all children of God and brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ the master teacher, the essence of whose teachings are summarized in Matthew chapters 5,6 and 7. Religious indoctrination has deprived us of our birthright to a personal relationship with God. False concepts, based on religious indoctrination and transliteration of the Bible, limit our awareness of our spiritual heritage, our spiritual dignity. These false concepts are based on religious indoctrination based on mistranslations of the Bible, which can be remediated by returning to the original linguistic and cultural roots of the Bible, to eradicate errors based on Biblical mistranslation and misinterpretation. 30

The essence of spiritual truth is to be found in all religious traditions. There is no evil in Cosmic Consciousness and sin, sickness and death, are not from God. (James Ch 5). The mind which is a muscle of divine intelligence, has no wisdom of its own.” Among the teachings of Bro. Mandus, founder of The World Healing Crusade and expressed through his numerous books (including, ‘The Mustard Seed’ available from the Sanctuary, see p.34) are the following: “God is love. Love is Life. It is the power within all matter, within our minds and in every cell of our bodies. It is Supreme Intelligence, and this God who is Love, is all knowledge, wisdom and power in everything everywhere. This Love is perfect everything, and because man finds his life through the Life, the Love of God expressing him, he is at all times potentially able to commune with that Presence. Jesus’ teachings show us that the life of complete love, is the only way to come into union with God and thus fulfil our spiritual destiny, for our mental, physical, and material needs. He points the way to a complete belief in the Love of God ever 31

responding to meet these needs. We are born to be Christ-like. All power is given unto us to achieve this objective as quickly as we can learn to achieve it in His Love. This is the supreme vision which lies like a seed in the soul of all people. As we keep it alive, day by day, the Divine Pattern unfolds as surely as millions of seeds are now germinating in the good Earth. Man or nation, without a vision is lost. But man or nation which knows the truth and applies it, will lead the whole world into the glories of the new age now dawning.” Within the Sanctuary of The World Healing Crusade, is a special place of prayer for children of the New Age. You may send photographs or prayer requests, to the Sanctuary, for your children, who have been born into this New Age. Now to your story; have you struggled through the challenges of childhood, resolved the hostility of jealousy or rejection, healed the pain of physical or mental illness, faced the distress of economic hardship, and confronted the humiliation of emotional abuse and the sorrow of personal loss? How is your life unfolding as the success story, 32

which is your individual expression of the glory of God? How are you co-operating with the Holy Spirit, in the manifestation of God’s expression as your life? In the never-ending story of the epiphany of the Christ, as you yield to the mighty power within you, to allow spiritual success to radiate through the vehicle of your consciousness, there is a transformation from self-perception and selfjudgment, to gratitude to God for the ever-increasing awareness that you are not designed to master life alone, but that the ALL-ONE-NESS, never fails. Will you choose to stop being such a task-master on your self this day, to allow the inner self to master your life? If not today; then tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then whenever you decide ‘My will is to do the will of my Father.’
