Location – Where is it? Everything on the Earth has an absolute and a relative location n We can describe locations two ways: n
• Relative – where something is in relation to some place else (near, next to, across from) • Absolute – an exact spot on Earth n

Latitude – lines that run East and West around the Earth, divide the Earth into North and South (0* N/S – Equator) Longitude – lines that run North and South around the Earth, dividing it into Eastern and Western hemispheres (0*E/W – Prime Meridian)

Google Earth can be used to find specific locations on the Earth. It uses longitude and latitude. Is that Relative or Absolute location?

Imagine… that you can pick up this school and relocate it anywhere you choose. n
