1. first find the length of the diagonal. ; x1 = 2,y1=0,x2=0,y2=5  =Square root of [ (x2-x1)^2 +(y2-y1)^2]  Square root of [(0-2)^2 + (5-0)^2]  Square root of 29.  Area of square = ½ * diagonal * diagonal  = ½ * 29 = 29/2 or 14.5 answer. www.afterschoool.tk

I started for city P towards Q at speed of 5 Km per hour. Ravi started one hour earlier to me, and I crossed him at 10 KM from P. When I returned back from Q, Ravi had to travel for 1 hour 12 minutes to reach Q. What is the distance between P &  Q? Options: 20,28,30,34,none.   

Speed of Ravi is 10/3 per hour (10 km in 3 hour). 1 hour & 12 minutes means 10/3 *72/60 =4 KM. I have travelled (4+4) 8 KM more, which means I have travelled total 4.8 Hours or 24 KM. Out of 24, 4 KM are for returning. Thus distance here is 20 (24-4) add 10 in this. Total distance is 30 KM Answer. www.afterschoool.tk
