This quote really caught my attention last month. As I left my brother Patrick at the airport and began the drive home in silence, for the first time, I really felt the weight of responsibility I had taken on in partnering with this incredible mission work in the heart of South Africa. I reflected on all I had experienced in Africa, growing up there, the recent trips I had made to spend time with Patrick, Cheryl and the team members of Reaching & Teaching. All at once it seemed like the magnitude of the work, the scope of all still to be done suddenly was bigger than anything I could put my hands on. Thankfully we have a God who delights in doing the IMPOSSIBLE.

Gauteng, the home of R & T Ministries, has a total area of 16,548 square kilometers, is slightly smaller than the US state of New Jersey. It has an estimated population of between 13 ±15 million people. A population increase that is accelerated by the influx of rural people and refugees from the whole of the African continent. This, compared to neighboring country Zambia who's land mass is 1/10th larger than Texas and has a total population of just over 9 million gives one a glimpse of the magnitude of this urban ministry in the heart of Africa. Hundreds of thousands of people flock to this densely populated area seeking something they have not found anywhere else. REACHING AND TEACHING Ministries has been there in some form for almost 20 years with a message of HOPE to the HOPLESS. At the time of writing, from just ONE of the FOUR outreach centers of Reaching and Teaching Ministries, almost 400 souls have been baptized, this year, into a new way of life . Even in the absence of Patrick for almost two and half months, the work carries on. The indigenous leaders have been equipped to minister and serve. The children in the preschool are still taught and fed. Evangelistic activities continue. HIV/AIDS patients counseled. Bible studies TAUGHT & SOULS SAVED.

The month of November is an exciting month for the Leadership Training Ministry. This is the month when ALL the students go into selected communities and practice what they have been taught. Prospective students are enrolled for World Bible School courses, Home/Street Bible Studies are taught and ONE to TWO week tent meetings are conducted. All this activity organized, sponsored and conducted by local people. An exciting and blessed time to see all the great things that GOD continues to do. The end of November brings great excitement for this MINISTRY. This is the time when graduation ceremonies are conducted and preparation for 2010 begins. Ministry has its cycle and ebb and flow no matter where you are.

PRAYER CONCERNS
• Our condolences and prayers go out to Cheryl and her family at the passing of her Father last month. Praise God that Patrick and Seth were able to make it safely home before he passed on to a better place after a long struggle with Alzheimer¶s disease.

• Pray for all the Bible Studies and opportunities that will be set up this month by those graduating from the Leadership Training.

• Pray that we will be able to secure enough food to feed the children in our Pre-school/ orphanage next year together with the orphans in the surrounding public schools.
