BINGO at the Parks

Hitching a Ride

About the Cover Artist: Mark Annicchiarico

We are excited to introduce you to our newest program, ECO-BINGO. This program provides a fun way for kids 12 and under to track their activities in our park system. The Exploring Charleston Outdoors (ECO) program was developed in support of the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission’s No Child Left Inside philosophy. On a year-round basis, we promote a wide range of programs that provide excellent opportunities for youth to connect with nature and the outdoors.

Mark Annicchiarico and his wife Christina enjoy all that the Lowcountry has to offer. After moving to Goose Creek three years ago, Mark’s growing photography hobby encouraged him to capture their Charleston adventures on film. His dedication has propelled his photography beyond amateur standards. Mark’s other passion is the four-legged kind. Mark and Christina have been involved with the organization Greyhound Rescue for the past ten years. They currently have two adopted Greyhounds, Foxy age 12 and Bear age 9. In addition, Mark recently started his own pet sitting service called Crowfield Pet Sitters. The service provides at-home care for pets while their owners are away.

Participation in ECO-BINGO is easy! To get started, download a Bingo card by going to www.ccprc.com/eco, or pick up a card at our Park & Program Services Office or the Park Office at James Island, Palmetto Islands, or Wannamaker County Park. Be one of the first 100 to turn in a completed bingo card and receive a free Exploring Charleston Outdoors t-shirt!

For more information on Crowfield Pet Sitters, visit www.crowfieldpets.com or call (843) 312-2824.

We want to make it easy for you and your children to discover your natural world. In addition to ECO-BINGO, kid-friendly programs and activities that involve exploring and experiencing the outdoors will be noted in this guide with a simple icon.

COVER ART: The Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission

features a local artist’s work on the cover of each Quarterly Program Guide. If you are an artist and would like to submit digital files, slides or photos of your artwork, please send them via regular mail (attn: Marketing - Cover Art) and include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for their return. Artwork is also viewed via email at [email protected]. We do not pay for cover artwork, but we do publish a short bio of the artist with information on how he/she can be contacted. The selected artist also receives a Gold Pass which provides vehicular entry into eight Charleston County Parks for an entire year.

We encourage you and your kids to leave the electronics behind. Get out, play, learn, grow, and make the connection with nature.
