Bio-Xpress
Decentralised Systems
Bio-Xpress—Accelerated Aerobic Action How they work Bio-Xpress Reactors operate on a continuous aerobic digestion principle. In essence, this mimics nature with all important improvements in speed, space and safety.
Integrated Control Station
Special points of interest:
Raw sewage is passed to the multistage Bio-Xpress Reactor after it has been screened for non biodegradable waste. The Bio-Xpress Reactor continually aerates and processes the sewage until it is separated into Recycled Water and valuable Biosludge.
High performance, maintenance free dual purpose Bio-Xpress micro media with 20 year guarantee.
A typical complete installation is described on page 3 along with two example illustrations of Bio-Xpress Decentralised Wastewater Stations. A more complete description can be found at:
•
Ready to reclaim water within hours of delivery.
•
A complete solution: 2 Phase Bio-Xpress Sewer Mining Stations, can recycle waste back to pure, potable water.
In a Bio-Xpress Decentralised Wastewater Station, all equipment is installed above ground and housed typically in an unobtrusive building designed to be in harmony with its surrounding environment. This means that there is simply no opportunity for untreated effluent to enter the environment and water table, and Kuma Sewer Mining Stations will not impact negatively on the community.

About our manufacturing standards 2nd Phase potable water
Bio-Xpress reactors are manufactured in Thailand by Kuma with the highest quality components and raw materials. Only ISO standard components and fittings from the USA are used along with International Standards based high grade steel to ensure every Bio-Xpress Reactor will provide at least a full 20 years operational lifetime. Welding is completed to the highest level and exceeds all international and military standards. After fabrication is completed, the entire unit is sandblasted back to white metal before precision coating with a coal tar based epoxy resin. There are 9 standard sizes ranging from 2.5 metres in length for an average of 300+ persons to 12 metres length catering for over 1800. Our factory is open for inspection by appointment to all government officials, environmental delegations, community organisations and current and prospective customers.
Rapid shipment
Orders are completed under firm contract with agreed delivery times and costs.
Rapid shipment worldwide in 20’ & 40’ ISO containers All Kuma Bio-Xpress Reactors and ancillary systems have been designed to fit and be readily packed in standard ISO shipping containers. This means complete systems can be delivered worldwide to your location and be fully operational in a matter of hours from their arrival on-site. New Thailand — Laos Friendship Bridge across the Mekong at; Muhkdahan/Savanakeht opened 2006 A vital link in the new ASEAN Trans-Asia Highway
When the requirement to upgrade or downsize a Station arises, Kuma Bio-Xpress systems can be quickly de-commissioned, sanitised and packed for removal and use elsewhere. This deployment flexibility ensures the fastest time to service and minimises operational and capital cost and space requirements. Northern Thailand offers one of the most central world delivery centres with excellent road freight from our factory to ports in Bangkok and, with the completion of the new ASEAN Trans Asia Highway, providing an east west-coast to coast road, we will further speed delivery to Asia, The Middle East, Europe and the American continents.

Bio-Xpress Decentralised systems 1st Phase Bio-Xpress Wastewater Station — serving 700 persons
•
Buffer tank to balance shock loading
•
non-biodegradable waste automatically loaded in eco friendly, transportable disposal containers
•
Biosludge outlet
•
Low BOD Recycled Water for gardens, car washing, toilet flushing and general building exterior cleansing
What is the role of the buffer tank? The role of the buffer tank in a Bio-Xpress Sewer Mining Station is two fold. Firstly it is the place where non-biodegradable objects that find there way into the system are screened out for instant incineration or returned via appropriate containers as approved landfill. The secondary role is to ensure that the sewage received will never overflow the 1st Phase treatment system. By designing the capacities to adequately cope for the community being served, any chance of sewage overflow is eliminated.
2 Phase Bio-Xpress Sewer Mining Station — serving 2000 persons
•
On site staff amenities if required
•

Decentralised Systems
How safe is low BOD Recycled Water? Biochemical Oxygen Demand is the primary measure and performance yardstick of water safety for humans. With a BOD of less than 8 mg/L, the accelerated treatment provided by the innovative multi -stage Bio-Xpress Reactor ensures the lowest BOD of any primary (1st Phase) sewage treatment system. This extremely low BOD ensures you and your family's health for responsible Recycled Water re-use, and very importantly, saves costly membrane consumables and lowers maintenance when going on to 2nd Phase treatment for the return to Class A potable water.
Reclaiming for your choice of water re-use By keeping the Class A water treatment as a separate 2nd Phase, Bio-Xpress clients and operators are able to decide how much of the treated Recycled Water is set aside for Class A potable water production. This means in those times when water is in abundance, primary treated, very low BOD Recycled Water can be mined and recycled. With Bio-Xpress Sewer Mining Stations you have the flexibility to ensure you are always operating for the minimum cost and the maximum effectiveness, irrespective of water availability or demand.
About our Bio-Media The Bio-Xpress Micro-Media provides a lifetime of operation and eliminates the need for consumables in the primary treatment Phase. The micro construction ensures the maximum surface area to house the bacteria. The serrated external surface provide a highly effective series of cutting edges to speed the break-down of suspended solids and ensure the minimum cycle time from sewage to low BOD Recycled Water.
Total Cost of Operation When we quote for the installation of a Bio-Xpress Sewer Mining station you will be provided with a Total Cost of Operation financial plan that spells out in fine detail every aspect of both the capital and on-going expenses. With this useful tool, you are provided with a yardstick that ensures all your competitive quotes are providing the maximum comparative financial detail. Call us any time for an obligation free TCO for your project.
Minimising on-going maintenance and consumables
call us: Kuma can provide solutions for any water treatment situation, especially where portability or immediate “in service” is needed. These solutions are delivered with the industry’s most competitive TCO.
Bio-Xpress Sewer Mining Stations can be designed with 2nd Phase treatment facilities. This means that the bulk of the treatment task (1st Phase) is handled by the Primary Bio-Xpress Reactor equipped with Kuma Micro Bio-Media with no need whatever for consumables. The optional 2nd Phase water purification system takes the low BOD Recycled Water from the Bio-Xpress Reactor and returns it to Class A potable water as required using reverse osmosis and membrane technology coupled with proven UV and Ozone sterilisation.
